The NY Times is reporting a masseuse arrived at his apartment and was let in the door by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger's bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they found pills near body.
We're told when paramedics responded the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As soon as I heard, I said I hope he didn't kill himself. Now to hear there were sleeping pills around him... maybe an accidental OD? Or on purpose??
SOOOO sad. I hope his daughter wasn't there. He seemed to love her very much - there were tons of pics of him with her.

Heath Ledger passed away on Tuesday, sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com.
Details are currently very hazy but it is believed he died of a drug overdose.
His body was found at an apartment on Broome Street in manhattan.
We are hearing that one of the Olsen twins was with him, but that is unconfirmed at the moment. And we hope that's not true

Most OD's are suicide. I don't see how one can accidentaly overdose on sleeping pills when a bottle of pills is found around him.
This is so sad. I feel awful for his daughter. He was so young. And I was really excited to see him be the joker in the new batman movie. One of the few young, good looking actors in Hollywood with talent.

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28.
According to WNBC, Ledger was found with pills strewn all around him.
NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper, who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, found him unconscious at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET, according to the New York Times. After receiving no response from the actor after shaking him, they called authorities.
I just cant believe this. He was so young and had so much ahead of him

I thought one of the main reasons he and Michelle separated was because he did not like living in NYC anymore. Perhaps he kept this apt when he was here visiting his daughter?
In any event, it's very tragic.
Dark Knight (next Batman flick) is due out this summer. He plays The Joker.

I just heard that the apartment was owned by MK Olsen but she is in CA...
