A family lost its son. A child lost her father. I hope to G-d there was no foul play as that would be absolutely tragic.
But if he were a drug user/abuser and did so very carelessly, then I cannot help but think it is a selfish act to use drugs when you have a child who depends on you for love and sustenance. I felt this way when Kurt Cobain took his own life.
I pray that there will be definitive answers and that this little girl's mother is able to shield her from what surely awaits her - a world who will want to know every little thing about her and he father.
May he rest in peace. He was quite a talent.

"Paul J. Browne, the Police Department’s deputy commissioner for public information, initially said that the apartment was owned by the actress Mary-Kate Olsen, but later reversed himself and said that was not the case.
A representative of Ms. Olsen said that the apartment did not belong to the actress. “It is not her apartment,” the representative, Annette Wolf, a publicist for Ms. Olsen, said in a phone interview. “She does not own the apartment. She has never owned the apartment. She and her sister have an apartment in New York City but they are not in this building.”
Gawker is covering this pretty extensively; these are supposedly the last photos of him alive.

I read on people.com that since the split with Michelle, he has been hitting the party circuit with friends. I also read that he subletted the apartment from Mary Kate Olsen. Apparently, as someone already posted, that is not true. We probably won't know whether he killed himself or accidentally ODed for a few days. I just hope his family's, especially his daughter's, privacy is respected during this terrible time. It is a hard enough time. So sad. May he rest in peace.
