I know mine (which in Evenflo) you can remove the fabric and put it in the washer.
If its on the plastic too, I'd go out and scrub it down with fantastik.

I've been in this situation way too many times. I was able to remove the fabric and I washed in the washing machine. As for the straps and base of the seat, I use HOT water and bleach.

Whatever you do, do NOT put the cover into the dryer after you wash it. And when you wash it, use cold water, or else it will shrink. I learned that the HARD way.
Line dry it overnight.

Re: help! DS just got sick in the car...
My DD has had her fair share of barfing in her carseat. We have the Britax Marathon too.
I took the whole seat inside, put it in the tub, and took the fabric over off, AND the straps and put it all in the washing machine on gentle with Oxyclean. Then I dried in the dryer on low and it came out better than brand new! Never an issue washing and drying!! IT does not shrink and washing the straps is an added bonus!
The actual seat/base I scrubbed down in the shower and let dry.

Wash the cover in the washer.
It's generally not recommended to submerge the harness in water and definitely do put them in the washer or dryer. Doing so can cause changes to their elasticity as well as breakdown of the webbing.
Use dish soap and spot clean the harnesses with a rag or order a new harness if it's really bad.
Be careful to take care when removing your cover if you have a seat that has EPS foam (looks like styrofoam) that you don't crack the foam or you'll need to replace the foam

I literally have had the Britax in the car 3 weeks and Sasha has puked twice.
You gotta take out the whole seat, remove the cover and wash... spot clean the rest of the seat.

The straps are gross.

Re: help! DS just got sick in the car...
Like AP said, all the fabric pieces go in the wash (I actually washed the straps too, it says you can so I did ). I let everything air dry. I sprayed the plastic pieces with the Clorox anywhere spray. Make sure to get in all the little crevices too. You need to undo all the straps to get he cover off. It is a bit time consuming but pretty easy to do...
