He had a slight fever a few days ago, went pediatrician becasue he was VERY cranky and he has been drooling A LOT! He is nearly 2 could the diaper rash be caused by teetihng...he also seems to be having some diarrhea...we don't know what to do to help him at this point, should we go to ped in the morning......

Re: HELP! Horrible diaper rash
Poor baby I was going to suggest triple paste but if that's not working i would call the ped in the morning. the ped might have to prescribe something stronger to get rid of it. hope he feels better my youngest son had what i thought was a diaper rash that wouldn't go away. it didn't bother him though. finally after a week i took him to the ped and it turned out to be a yeast infection (he was on antibiotics for 20 days due to back to back ear infections). i felt so bad that i waited so long but i really thought it would clear up on its own.

Desitin and Maalox or Mylanta (original)...it worked wonders when nothing else worked for me. My BFF is a ped. nurse, and this is what they use.

this works, but nothing has worked as well as VUSION - its prescription and $$$ (i think $50 with my plan). My ped had a coupon for the first purchase. It worked wonders!
hope he feels better soon...

Re: HELP! Horrible diaper rash
I have heard girls SWEAR by Burnt flour. Just brown some flower in a pan on the stove, let it cool completely and use it like baby powder.

Re: HELP! Horrible diaper rash
Like someone else said use the malox or milk of mag. with balmex and a & d ointment.
how you do it is
mix all 3 to make it back to a paste at night put a wee wee pad down (or something like that)
put one diaper down and the the baby
paste it on thick
then put another diaper on top off him/her, try to lock the 2 diapers together, but leave it so there is some air getting through, i know a little messy but i PROMISES it works wonders.
Kryssy use to get them so bad that she would bleed. it was so heart wrenching.
then a nurse told me about using this and never again did she ever get that bad.
the first sign of her getting red i would use a little and gone the next morning.
hope your little one feels better soon!
Kristinasmom finally listened to me and learned it worked wonders !

Re: HELP! Horrible diaper rash
DD had a really bad diaper rash over the summer and I tried everything that everyone recommended, but none of them worked for DD. When we went to the Ped. she told us to mixed these three creams together, use equal parts of each cream and use three times a day and the other diaper changes use whatever diaper cream we used. We saw a huge difference with the first time using it. Now if I see her getting the tiniest bit red, I use it once and she's all good.
Hydrocortizone cream Clotrimazole 1% Bacitracin
We got them from target and also got the target brands.
