HELP!!!!! i DONT UNDERSTAND...
Why is it that whenever I put my DS down for a nap or night time, he's fine when he's on me gliding in the chair and as soon as I put him down and try to get out of the room, he stands up and starts screaming crying( bloody murder SCREAMING!!!!!)
We have done the CIO and it works sometimes, the past 2 weeks he has been really good, with going down to sleep at night, I would be able to walk out of the room and nothing, and same thing for the middle of the night if he wakes up, I would go in a put him back down and then he was fine.
All of a sudden since Sunday, he's gone backwards...
He's NOT sick, it's not his teeth, it's like he has some sort of separation anxiety...
he doesn't do this at daycare!!! This is soooo TOUGH... right now he's up there bawling his eyes out....

Re: HELP!!!!! i DONT UNDERSTAND...
I remember around a year that he had this problem. Does he have things in his crib to play with? Around 11 months we got him a music toy and he still puts himself to sleep at 21 months with it. You have to stay strong! Let him bawl!

HE's actually 11 months now, I have this silly baby Einstein caterpillar in their and a book, and he doesn't do anything with them. What does your DS have in his crib? How long do I let him bawl for.... I mean it's sooooo HORRIBLE sounding!!!

How long do you let him cry? For everyone it's different.
As for what we got him, we got two things made by Playskool. One is just for the crib and one is a portable MP3 player, that can attach to the crib as well. You can put your own music on it, plus it has it's own music already in there. I still see it on clearance at TRU. But I know Playskool still has them on their websites too. I don't know what it's called. I want to say 'made for me' Lifesaver for the crib and lifesaver for car trips.

I let him cry for 10 min. go back in reassure him that I'm there, leave and go from there, if he starts crying again, I wait another 10 min, and keep doing that untill he falls asleep. I have a sound machine all night long, and I also have a CD player that attaches to the crib, but once the CD is over and it's quit he wakes up, thats why I like the sound machine.

DS can press the button and play the music as long as he wants. Some nights he plays it for 5 minutes, other nights he plays it for an hour. And we bring it wherever he sleeps, even when we flew to Florida. We let him play with it for a few days before putting it in the crib. He learned to press the button to play it. What kid at that age doesn't like to press buttons?
