Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
Can you bring it in to be altered?
It looks like it is totally fixable with some alterations.
At my final fitting for my wedding the dress was too big in the waist and way to small in the bust. They were able to fix it. Hopefully yours can be fixed also.

Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
that dress is gorgeous!!!
have you brought it to a seamstress yet? there might be enough fabric to let it out in the bust. OR they can take fabric from the hem and add it to the bust area.
good luck!
eta: is it too small or too big??
i assumed it was too small.. duh.
if its too big then they can just take it in a little! NBD!

That dress is a gorgeous cut and color! Take the dress to a tailor who can do a simple tuck on each side. You will be fine! Its stunning and I'm sure you will look the same!

breathe.
It sounds like the dress is not right. Can you bring it back to the place you got it and tell them they need to order you a new one?
Obviously if fits everywhere else. Sounds like the dress manufacturer got it wrong.
If all else fails there may be a way material from the hem could close the gap.
If you have to go that route take it to a dress maker, someone who does more than hem pants and take in waists.
Good luck.

Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
It WILL be okay!
Depending on how small it is, they may be able to add panels to the dress so it will fit. Take it to a REALLY good seamstress ASAP, preferably the store if it's a good one. If not, get the store to order you a new one ASAP. (This should be a last resort, as you really do want the dress from the same dye lot as the other BMs. Is it at least a light color in case you have to reorder?)
Sounds like you were measured incorrectly by whoever ordered the dress for you. I'm sorry. You should be able to sort it out in 3 weeks, though.

Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
They should be able to take it out around the bust.
Do you have to have it shortened? Maybe they could use the material from the bottom to close the gap somehow? If you don't have to have it shortened ask on of the other girls in the wedding if they did have it shortned and they can give you their fabric....
Seamstresses are magicians I am sure they can fix it

tahts waht im thinking-the dress came w/a shawl, so i could possible take it from there and close it up?
i thought about the dye lot too-the pic i posted is the color of the dress.
i actually wasnt measured by them-my fault? i was in a bridal party last year and i had gotten a size 10, bust was too big and i ordered a size 8 this time around-stupid me.

Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
How is the length. I know when I got married, my sister needed major alterations. They were able to life the bottom of the dress up to accomodate her hips and use the extra length for panels.

Yes, as long as the gap isn't huge, they should be able to add panels from the extra fabric from the shawl or the extra length. It should be fine, but get to the seamstress ASAP to be sure you don't have to order a new one.
I wouldn't worry about the dye lot with the dress that color. I'd worry more if it were really dark or bright.
I'm sure it will be fine.
The dress may be just fine, but get to a seamstress to make sure. I DO have big ones, and whenever I have a dress that fits my chest, it needs to be taken in a LOT in the waist/hips. (And I'm not so small in those places either!)
It will be time - you do have time even if you need to re-order.

Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
When I was in a wedding in a fellow LIFers wedding I was 6 months preggo at the time of her wedding and they ordered a 14. A 14 just is bigger doesnt make the belly much bigger. So they took material from the bottom and made the belly part bigger. The dress was flawless. I know a seamstress can help you for sure.

Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
If you look inside, is there any seam allowance? My wedding gown was to small in the boobs, but they told me to get that size, b/c they said the bust is the easiest place to let out & it worked fine.
This dress may run small in the boobs--all styles are different, so that may be why the 8 fit last time, and not this time.
Does the dress have cups sewn in? If so, maybe taking them out & wearing a strapless bra will work better for you?

Re: HELP! MAJOR Problem!!!
That dress is so freakin' gorgeous! Wow. And you're thin!! Something is off! My wedding dress was a too tight and they were able to let it out. I am sure that a good seamstress can help you out. Also, make sure that it is on "right." Sometimes you have to shift the dress a little bit for the zipper to pull up, especially if it's a perfectly fitted dress.
