Help me add color to my basement
I want to add pops of color in my basement. Just not sure where to start...any ideas?
Painting is out of the question DH would kill me
I told DH he could decorate the bar area so I don't have too much play there.
There is also an area where I am standing to take the pics with empty wall space and an empty area.

Re: Help me add color to my basement
Go to Home Goods or Marshall's and buy a bunch of colorful throw pillows, and maybe some blankets.
They do a lot to bring color to a room and you often can get a ton for $100.
Maybe a mirror with a colorful border?
And a few lamps?

Re: Help me add color to my basement
It looks so nice and comfy to start. I would find some nice colorful prints or posters for that empty wall and pull one or two colors from them to use as accents. You can get throw pillows, blankets car accessiries in your accent colors to brighten things up.

Re: Help me add color to my basement
I agree that throw pillows and blankets are a great way to add pops of color to a room without much commitment.
Artwork, too.
Accessories like table lamps can be colorful additions, as well as vases. Adding a plant or two can add "life" to a room.
Another idea would be to put a colorful area rug over your neutral carpeting to sort of define the space and add more color. You can get a relatively inexpensive rug (so again, not a huge investment, like furniture), and I think even an indoor/outdoor type rug would be practical for a basement.

Re: Help me add color to my basement
- area rug - pillows - throw blanket - artwork - candles
In re: to colors you can either opt for a cool palette (light blue, green, ivory, yellow, pink) or a warmer palette (burgandy, tan, brown, gold)

Re: Help me add color to my basement
I think pops of bright color would really perk it up... thinking colors like tangerine, turquoise, yellow.
Have fun with it! I think furniture, flooring, even paint colors, are big commitments, but the accent colors/accessories are the place to experiment.
