Sunken Meadow Pavilion

i LOVE this place but they're $100++ a person Chat Icon

WHAT???? I have been there for a few things and I would never think the cost is that high.

Snapper Inn does a great wedding so you may really like it there.

Also, I know it's more catering hall-ish but my friend got a tremendous deal booking a "last minute wedding" as they call it this close at Lands End. It was really a nice event.

Also, what about Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue? Or what about doing a wedding at like Maguire's in Ocean Beach on Fire Island? Or Surfs Out in Kismet?

Oh and congrats! Chat Icon

I know! i was shocked too when they emailed me!

Snapper Inn was always my #1 but I don't know what their prices are so we'll see next week!

I have people coming from Jersey so I'm trying not to go too far out.

Have you tried Bridgeview Yacht Club? They have 2 rooms, not sure what their minimum is.

Yes, Bridgeview Yacht club is also really nice! However, during the high season (if I remember correctly from 2011) they do have a minimum and I think for a Sat night it's almost 150... Also, I don't think they have 2 rooms anymore, I think it's just the 1 room and that they converted that upstairs second room to the "bridal suite".

Yes that's the bridal suite (got married there in 2007) but I meant the cocktail room and the larger banquet room, they only do 1 wedding at a time so there really would be no need to use both rooms. I wasn't really thinking about high season though, you're definitely right about that!

Did anyone mention the Riviera in Massapequa yet?

They recently renovated the Larkfield Manor in E Npt. It's very nice and has a nice outdoor space. It doesn't feel as much like a hall as it used to. We went to a wedding there this fall and it was fantastic and I believe it's pretty reasonable.

They do have events in the upstairs room when they dont have a big wedding going on, as it is used as the bridal suite, but she said no because there is no elevator (understandable! it was rough on my dad's bad ankle but he went up and down only once).

When I looked 5 years ago for my wedding, they quoted me at $120/pp with a 150 person Min. for a Saturday Afternoon.

My cousin just had a wedding there in June and I am 100% positive they did not spend $100+ a person. Not even close to that.Chat Icon Maybe it depends on day/ option etc?

Anyhow Congratulations!!

I recommend Larkfield Manor - I couldn't say enough great things about them.

I was there in August for a 50th Anniversary party.
It was held in the smallish room upstairs usually used for cocktail hours.
Like a mini-wedding it was, very nice.
That's why I thought of NHPI.
They also have the outdoor gazebo and patio.

Re: Help me pick a wedding venue!

NM - saw it on your NO list

My sis is getting married at Riviera in Massapequa. It's around $65 + + for a Sunday.

It's a catering hall but one wedding at a time/on the water/rustic.

Our wedding was there, definitely does NOT have a catering hall feel...

What about The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens? Is that too far west? It's technically still "on" Long Island Chat Icon

The Foundry in LIC is really nice too!

My brother got married there back in 97, it was lovely, definitely not catering hall-ish.

I got married at the George Washington Manor in Roslyn. I know it was under $100 though that was 10 years ago. But it's a cool place, historic and cozy and they have a nice little chapel.

Help me pick a wedding venue!

The Metropolitan in Glen Cove has a main room like a nightclub, and a cozier room for smaller weddings and events.

GWM doesn't exist anymore. Chat Icon I always liked it there, but now it's a restaurant called Hendrick's Tavern.
