Help settle a debate...
What does "no strollers on escalator" mean?
A. No strollers allowed even if they are closed up and you carry it
B. No occupied strollers aka take your kid out and carry it closed.

I would say b.
I would never take my kids on an escalator with them in a stroller-- that is what is dangerous. However, I see people doing it all the time.

I always thought it meant b. If we are in a situation where we can't use an elevator, dh will fold and carry the stroller and I will hold DS. We have only had to do this once or twice though.
FWIW while I would never leave ds in the stroller on an escalator, I don't really feel like it is SO much safer for me to hold him on it. I fell down an escalator as a kid and I am always slightly nervous when I have to ride one. I try to avoid escalators with DS period but there have been a few occasions where it was unavoidable.

B. There is no reason you can't hold a stroller on the escalator.

I would say B, my other half would say A. I would most likely then grab the twins and the stroller and go on the escalator saying...let the escalator police come get me.....

And I have seen people take strollers with the kid inside and go down an escalator. I cringed and prayed as i watched it happen…it was so scary. And PS there was an elevator but apparently they were too lazy to walk to it.

LOL it's also my DH who takes the signs literally and I said the same thing about the police!

yesterday we went to the march of dimes walk in east meadow. the park is HUGE and parking was a nightmare. So we are walking over fields and fields to try to get to the start and meet up with our friends. I cut the corner of a soccer field with the stroller. They were not playing yet and no where near this area. You would have thought I ran a red light just for kicks by the reaction I got from her. and yes I said the soccer, field and park police were clearly after me for my violation.
