Help with Teacher Gift ASAP
I have given my notice and will be a SAHM. For several reasons and after given it lots of thought it was the best decision.
Mason has been going to the daycare for almost 2 years now. His last day will be next Thursday. His 3rd birthday is that weekend so I wanted to make it a Birthday/Goodbye celebration. Bringing in cupcakes and goodybags for the kids.
Mason's teacher goes above and beyond for him. They have a special relationship and I know he loves her. The other day when I picked him up she said she had an early bday gift for him... she made a big goldfish (he LOVES fish), cute PJ's and an adorable frame with a sweet and heartfelt poem and pic of the two of them. I seriously cried reading it. DS has some speech delays and sees an OT and his teacher has always been a huge support for him. She even calls when he does something big or new.
Anyway, I want to get her something special without spending too much. Remember I'm leaving work to be SAHM. He will be going to preschool to get more Speech and OT. I also have a 10 month old at the school that I will be taking out. I want to do a little more for Mason's teachers b/c he's been with her longer and she really is amazing, but also a little something for Brayden's teachers Please help! Their last day is a week from today!

I'm planning on doing the crayon monogram too.
For her other teacher I'm giving a plant with a sign "thank you for helping me grow this year."

Approx how much are you willing to spend? I always LOVE getting gifts at the store Brighton. They have fantastic choices and wrap beautifully.

Thanks all I like the plant idea and I'll make a card or some art project with DS for her.
We live in NJ and there's a Wegmans by me. They have a great flourist section that will wrap and maybe I'll add a little something.

I did this for teacher appreciation day and they loved their plants. Really cute!

I have bought this cermaic pot that you can engrave. It is so pretty and she will never forget it. It may be more then you want to spend.

Re: Help with Teacher Gift ASAP
as a teacher, I can tell you that the best gift you can give her is a heartfelt card really expressing how much she helped Mason and how much she meant to you.
I've received countless gift baskets of soap and candles - many of which I regifted, but there are a handful of cards that I have saved and still read from time to time when I am feeling down. It is great to know that you did make a difference.
I also really liked the crayon monogram - that is something I would definitely hang up in a classroom.

I am nto a teacher but I completely agree! I was actually once told by my son's old daycare teacher that one of the most valuable things she gets from people are cards, with personal and really heartfelt messages from parents! She told me how she keeps the one i gave her 4 years ago and likes to reread it from time to time because it makes her feel so good!
It's the kind words that always count!
