high fever, no other symptoms? UPDATE

So its now been 5 days since the onset of the high fevers. Yesterday, Jack developed a VERY phlegmy, crackly cough. No fever since Sunday. This am, rash all over. Wondering if it is roseola or just viral?

my three year old was acting a bit crabby tonight so I scooped him up and noticed he was warm. very warm. took him temp and it was 103.1. He said he felt fine and has been acting fine (besides being a three year old).

my husband took him to urgent care and they thought strep, rapid came back negative. his temp was 103.7. his glands were just a tad swollen. they assume viral.

has anyone experienced a high fever with no other symptoms?

DD just got over this. She had no symptoms but a fever. It went up even with meds. Went to urgent care and they said virus.
Lasted 48 hours.

Same thing for both of my kids. viral and gone in 48 hrs. feel better

My DD last year at this time had the same thing...high fever for several days 103-104.5. She was pretty lethargic though. Turned out to be roseola. Hope he feels better!

DS had a 104 on and off for 4 days with no other symptoms. He was in and out of the dr . Ears, throat, and chest were fine. Viral at that point. His fever broke on the 4th night and then spiked the next day. Off to the ER we went. The pedi wanted to rule out anything major. He ended up having a raging ear infection at that point. He had just been seen in the Dr's office 2 days before then.. He didn't even show his usual signs of an ear infection at that point!!!

I first thought it was going to be Coxsackie, he had it last July and this is how he started out. Just keep giving motrin and/or tylenol and keep him hydrated. DS wouldn't eat or drink anything but milk for a week..

When my DD had a fever with no other symptoms it ended up being a UTI

Yep, my 4 yr old just had 102.6 for two days, no other symptoms at all. He was even fine during the day but spiked a fever at night. Now he's fine.

My DD#2 had that last week. She was playing outside with her sister totally normal on Saturday. We came in and while dinner was cooking she got really tired and asked to go to bed. She was warm so I checked her and she was 100.3. Went to bed and woke the next morning saying she felt fine but her temp was 102.6. She didn't want any meds and said she felt fine. Fever was gone by noon on Sunday.

This is DS constantly for past 2 years...every time we go to the doctor they do strep test but its always negative...he just gets swollen glands and they tell me it's viral and it usually does go away on its own.

My DD is going through this now. She had a 101 fever Thursday night. Took her to my moms and went to work. My dad called and said she was very mushy. So I took her to the ped and they said viral also. She has no other symptoms but a fever and today it's ranging in the 99's. hopefully it's on it's way out.

this just started in my house. dd had a temp of 101 at lunch time, it came down to about 100.3 after her nap, and then spiked up to 102.6 right before bed.

so from Friday through yesterday AM, he spiked fevers between 102-104. Literally NO other symptoms. We took him to the ped yesterday (no fever at that point) and he was 100% healthy otherwise.

I really thought he would wake up with a rash today (roseola) but nothing. And no fever. Must have just been a 72 hour high fever virus

Yes, my dd, who is 3 yo, came home from daycare on thursday night with a fever but no other issues. By saturday morning it was gone. Daycare said 2 other kids had this 24 hr virus with just a fever. Probably one of those viruses going around.
