Horrible back pain at night...
Over the past week or so I have been getting HORRIBLE back pain when I sleep at night. It is so uncomfortable I can't sleep and wake up in pain throughout the night. When I get up to use the bathroom or in the morning I have to limp it hurts so bad. It is a constant stabbing pain in my lower right back (right above my butt area, almost near my hip). It doesn't happen any other time than when I sleep. Anyone else get this and have any remedies?? I sleep with a body pillow between my legs and one propped up behind my back. Thanks!!

I was having hip pain and tossing and turning all night. I went to BRU and got the snoogle body pillow and it is great. I definitely recommend it. It is so much better then sleeping with a regular pillow between your legs. I think it really helps.

Re: Horrible back pain at night...
Hey...sorry to hear about that pain!!
I too, am up every couple of hours with bad back pain, but it's different than yours!!! Mine is mid-upper back, like right around where your bra would go across your back, only on the left side...
and it hurts from about 7/8pm on...and I'll wake up during the night and CANNOT BREATHE, like literally cannot complete a full breath, I think that's more why I wake up than from the pain...when I try to get a full breath, it feels like my ribs are going to break from the pressure/pain in my back...
Yours sounds more like sciatica...right side you said, right??? I've heard the body pillow does wonders, but I'm not having that pain yet...
wish i could help!!

I've been having the same upper back pains for the last week. last night was terrible I could barely sleep. I had these type of back issues before pregnanct but they had gone away. I'm in so much pain today, it was on the left side where my bra goes but now I have it on both. this is the first big thing for me with this pregnanc and it S U C K S!!! I hate back pain. is there anything you are doing for it? I have DH massage it every night before bed but the muscles are like rocks. its impossible for him to work it all out. I'm thinking I might go to the chiro and go back to getting massage therapy for it.
As for the OP that is siatica. look up yoga moves to help with that! I had that pre-pregnancy and the yoga moves worked great!! also get a body pillow and switch sides when the pain is intense to releave the pressure. the yoga moves are really simple and safe durning pregnancy.

InShock...
I take tylenol but I dont think it's doing anything...I have a massage chair pad that is shiatsu massage w/heat that i put on the couch...andsometimes DH massages it, but 5-10 minutes later I feel it again, it's relentless!!!
and the pain not being able to breathe I had pre-preg. also, I was also thinking about going back to the chiro for massage therapy!
something's gotta give!!!
