Hosting Christmas Eve Italian Fish people join me!
This is what I'm thinking so far, I want to do something different this year.
Appetizers tequila grilled shrimp and avocado cream gorgonzola and prosciutto stuffed figs seafood salad cheeses and salamis olives breadsticks
Dinner linguine white clam sauce braised seabass with capers and peppers phyllo wrapped asparagus maybe fried shrimp or shrimp scampi maybe bacon wrapped scallops

hey G....just planning out the menu now. it's a work in progress since I'm not sure many people I am having over yet. yours sounds DELISH!
appetizers fried shrimp fried zucchini antipasta platter
salad rucola with shaved parm and lemon
pasta lobster ravioli with seafood cream sauce
main course halibut or cod with asparugus (baked in parchment) brussel sprouts with hazelnuts (MAYBE)
we'll see what this morphs into. your fig and gorgonzola sounds incredible. may have to steal that!
ETA: I am totally NOT Italian LOL...but this is how Christmas Eve has always been at my grandpas house!

i think urs sounds pretty good, this is what we usually have:
baked clams seafood salad fried shrimp/scallops fried calamari
linguine w/red fish sauce (usually shrimp n calamari in there)
shrimp scampi
salmon w/some kind of mustardy sauce
stuffed shrimp w/crabmeat

we usually do seafood salad with shrimp calamari octopus and scungilli
linguni with lobster sauce made with the claws and bodies and the tails made in the oven stuffed with breadcrumbs
fried shrimp or shrimp scampi
baked clams
mussels in white sauce

also lobster tails shrimp scampi bakala (no one eats it but we have to have it on the table!) calamari seafood salad

There's 35 of us, so it's a big menu that encompasses a lot of requests Everyone brings something and dinner is served buffet style.
Appetizers: Fried Shrimp Fried Scallops Fried Cardona Seafood Salad (octopus, scungelli, shrimp) Baked Brie & Crackers Cold Anitpasta w/ Italian Bread
Fish Dishes Baccala with onions and capers Stuffed Calamari Red Seafood Sauce (calamari, shrimp, mussels, lobster tails) Baked Tilapia or Salmon Shrimp Scampi
Meat Dishes Baked Virgnina Ham Baked Turkey Breast
Pasta Dishes Tortelinni Alfredo Lingiunni for the red seafood sauce Lasagna
Vegetables/etc Dishes Grilled Brussel Sprouts w/ oil and red pepper flakes Sauteed Green Beans w/ garlic & oil Tri Colori Salad Pineapple mix (for the ham, family specialty) Italian Breads (braided, rounds, meat bread, olive bread, etc)

We do the basics..
Shrimp with cocktail sauce Tempura Shrimp, scallops and Filet Beer Batter Shrimp, scallops and Filet Mussels in a Garlic Sauce over linguine(that's new, usually it's mussels in red sauce) Baked clams (lots of them!!)
ETA.. I forgot the Calamari!! Shame on me!!!

Im hosting The holiday for about 35 people this year, and was just going over my menu as well, this is what Im thinking so far... (no meats for us on Christmas Eve!)
Apps cold seafood salad Fish fry (fried shrimp,calamari,bacala,eel) Baked clams Fried cardoni Scungili in fradiavo sauce over hard frisela bread
Antipasto- assorted cheeses, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, olives, mozzerella&tomato
Steamed mussles in a white wine broth
Pasta- Linguini w/Alaskan King Crableg sauce and maybe a trad.sicilian anchovie sauce for my hubby
Main broiled Lobster tails w/butter Shrimp Luciano (recipe Im stealing from Rao's cookbook-delish!) Seabass-not sure how Im making this yet... baked Whitefish
Sides- Stuffed Artichokes& Mushrooms Riceballs/potato croquets Cold Brocoli salad
Fruits/nuts/fennel/chestnuts/italian dessert cheeses
Desserts- (my company will bring)) Good Lord....Im reading this over, I better get started asap!

Off the top of my head we are having:
calamari, baked clams, scungili, mussels
fried baccala, baccala with red sauce, baccala with white sauce ( we get a big baccala! LOL )
fish fillet for the kiddies
lobster tails salmon with onions spicy shrimp and rice fried shimp
fried cardone ( yuck! )
and I am not sure what else. We eat NO meat on Christmas Eve and as a "joke" one of our fishes is always made of marzipan!
Can't wait to see a baccala soaking in our bathtub!!!
oh wait i forgot my favorite part of all winter holidays
CASTAGNE!!!!!!!!!

i honestly cant remember if we have pasta? I am trying to think of what kind we would have that doesnt involve a meat sauce. . .

apps are usually antipasta mozzarella & roasted peppers bacala salad ( sp) cardona . mmm mmm my fav stuffed artichokes stuffed mushrooms
soup is usually clam chowder
then the feast lol shrimp baked clams scungulli (sp) calamari mussels scallops zuppe de pesi (sp)
all thats either fried or baked
I love love xmas eve ...
