How are the gas stations out there?

Husband told me to fill up on Saturday. Hearing there are lines and not all gas (reg/super) are available.

Fine by me in NJ. I've read supply is only affecting southeast, particularly VA, GA and NC.

Re: How are the gas stations out there?

Seems to be effecting the Southeast part of the country as of now. I do see prices creeping up.

News12 started already this morning with the fear mongering. Luckily I am still working from home and kids drive so I don’t use much gas anymore. I will probably go next week but don’t anticipate any long lines. Maybe pay a little more but you can always check gas buddy and find the lowest prices in your area.

How are the gas stations out there?

News 12 made it seem like there was no gas. I went and got gas for both my cars (both were almost empty) I filled up both cars and had them back in my driveway within 10 minutes. No line and there is a gas station across the street from the one I went to with an oil truck filling their station. It’s fine. I would say if there is no repair and an ongoing shutdown of the line it will be an issue but for now it’s fine

Yup did you see them this morning? Chick put her mask back on and got in her fear mongering stance to scare everyone.
If I had to work that job I would have quit a long time ago.

Down south though is a nightmare. My parents are in NC, it took them hours to find a gas station with any gas left and even then they had to wait on long lines It's really crazy. Hopefully they resolve the issue soon. Up here all we seem to be seeing is a jump in gas prices, no shock given the circumstances.

Yes. But News 12 is a LONG ISLAND station and they need to stop.
They do this for every snow storm too.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was them that singlehandedly caused the Great toilet paper panic of 2020

But are they actually saying there is a shortage up here because that would be so dumb as it's not even true. So odd. I mean panic if you are in NC, lol, but no up in these parts.

Absolutely down south is an issue. My husbands family is in FL and my brother is in Georgia it’s bad down there but LI is fine and people are panic filling and getting gas cans which will create a shortage and it doesn’t need to be that way. They are working on fixing the line and said by the weekend they should hopefully have it fixed at least for testing so there shouldn’t be a panic. Same with people getting crazy and “panic” buying houses last summer because they didn’t want to live in the city. Now Long Island that was already unaffordable is completely out of range for the average person

How are the gas stations out there?

I'm in the Triangle area of North Carolina and we're all out. It's so stupid that people are causing the panic. Thankfully I still have a little more than a quarter of a tank and don't need to drive much. I'm hoping it's back to normal this weekend.

And the pictures of people hoarding gas is probably one of the main reasons there is a shortage at many places. There should be a limit.

There is a limit. By my mom in NC you're capped at a $50 fill up.

They are probably going to different gas stations and filling up their cap amount.

Here on LI, a small increase in gas prices but no lines. We have the NJ refineries which help alleviate any pressure the closure puts on inventory.

OMG, someone posted a pic of someone pumping gas into tupperwear storage bins. I have to go back and check which state it was in.
