Re: How did you decide on team green?
This is our last baby. We found out with our other kids. So we really just wanted to know what this team green thing was all about.

It will be nice to be surprised. I love surprises!

Well, I seriously surprised myself and now at almost 32 wks DH is begging for us to find out at our last sono. I told him he is "high" if he thinks I waited this long and I wont wait another few weeks.

I always chime in on these "Team Green" threads! I am a three-time Team Green-er and would not have it any other way!
I know, I know, it's a surprise whenever you find out but I don't care what anyone says, it's a better surprise on the birthday and no one will ever convince me otherwise. I loved people guessing all 40 weeks! Personally I think, like others have said, when someone else is Team Green, the actual day of the birth is so much more exciting because really, does anyone really care how long the baby is?
Anyway, I am not a "planner," and even if I were...trust me I was set UP with TONS of pink and blue when the time came. My DC had hardly any yellow and green gender-neutral stuff. People go nuts when the baby is born!
You've done the finding out thing before...do something different! Stay strong, sister!
I found out with our son but I agree with ALL of this
OP- I want to be team green for #2. I know it will be so hard but I think to find out in the delivery room is amazing and would like to experience it.

Re: How did you decide on team green?
I've always wanted to be team green. BOTH times. I just love the idea of the surprise at the end. There really are very few surprises like that in your life and it's so surreal. To me, it didn't matter if they were a or a . Didn't make a difference either way and i had no preference. Plus back in the day, there weren't sonos to find out the sex. So why find out now? you can't change it. So to me, finding out was/is pointless (to me).
For #3, we will be team again! BEST surprise ever.
ETA: oh and i should say that i'm a HUGE planner. Very organized, anal and a tad OCD. But sometimes you just have to let go. Also it always cracks me up when people say they need to plan, paint the nursery or get the appropriate clothes. Why does it crack me up? because even being team green, you still plan the nursery, you still get the gear and you still have to dress your kid versus going naked.
My SIL was team green. There is NOTHING like being in the waiting room and teh excitement building for her husband to come in and say "IT'S A BOY!" It was SO exciting!!!!
I honestly just think it's exciting for all those around. I was team x's 2 and everyone was so excited, hanging by their phone the whole time, doing the baby pools at my work and so forth. The anticipation just builds and builds as time goes on. It's great!

Re: How did you decide on team green?
Prior to TTC, I knew DH wanted to be surprised. The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. We didn't find out with DS and it was such an amazing experience. DH was the one who told me in the delivery room that we had a son. After having that experience, it was pretty easy to decide to be surprised again. Part of me would love to know, but I'm also really glad that we're waiting to find out. For me, it was totally worth the wait.

Re: How did you decide on team green?
team green 2 times.
i never thought to find out. just seems so much more fun.
as far as planning, i like my cribs bare because of sids.
clothes? i love white on newborns.
if a fam or friend is team green, i am way more inclined to stay up all night waiting for the call.
either way it doesn't matter...but i am sure dh's top 5 moments in life will include busting out into waiting room with the joy and excitement of announcing it's a boy... or it's a girl.
i had scheduled c's. laying on that table with the sheet in front of my face...preparing to hear the gender...it's the top of a rollercoaster.
that is what it is...anytime you find out gender will be a magical moment. but to combine those 2 moments into one...it is an experience

Re: How did you decide on team green?
We were all about team and had no desire to find out what we were having until my 20 week sono. It tool us a long time to get pregnant, 7 years dealing with IF. I had to have an amnio done so I knew that if I wanted to find out it was right there. At my 20 week sono my doctor found out there was a possibility the baby may need surgery when he/she was born. It had been a rough 20 weeks and I needed some good news, something to hold on to and if that baby was going to be born and leave me right away due to surgery I needed to know. My DH was so surprised by my decision. I had a bakery make up a gender reveal cake and it was just the 2 of us and I videotaped it. I never thought I would want to know. I always wanted to be surprised but for me it made the next few months easier. As it was he was born 6 weeks early and was in the NICU. Im not sure what I will do next time. Im tempted to go team but also knowing what we were having was amazing too. Either way as the saying goes as long as the baby is healthy that is all that matters in the end.
