My DS spit up a lot. The spitting up got progressively worse and then he started arching his back and screaming a lot when he was eating. He was also very fussy from 5pm until midnight EVERY night. He didn't start the arching and screaming until around 5 or 6 weeks, and that's when I brought him to the ped and they said he had reflux.

DS was arching his back and screaming with every feeding. He would spit up a lot when laying flat. He was diagnosed at about 6 weeks with GERD...

I literally heard it coming up with Xavier and then hear him swallow and scream.

If it's just spitting up I wouldn't worry about it at all. Rylan spit up so much he SOAKED burp clothes in no time.

We are going through this now. Our DD is lactose intol. and has acid reflux. She was very uncomf., would squirm, cry, lots of spit up and sal. If you want to chat fm me and I will fill you in on what we did...we see a gastro on a reg. basis!

maybe im just paranoid...dd spit up 3 times today...but NOT fussing at all and nursing .

DS had silent refux which hwas much more difficult to identify. He was miserable, poor little guy. Almost constant crying and could never lay flat on his back. Some kids with severe never spit up.

my DD didn't really spit - she'd vomit every couple of days (sometimes once a week only) - which didn't seem unusual to me. but she would scream and arch her back during feedings and had a lot of trouble at night at the same time (she had been STTN before the episodes began). she was congested too and you eventually could hear the reflux in her throat and nose. once she had her on the right medication, she became a dream again and also stopped vomiting so while i didn't think it seemed like a big deal, clearly it was a sign.
