I vote for "below average" bc of the upbringing i had. I was constantly told that i had no boobs, a big nose, and horrible hair....
as much as i try, i dont feel pretty. And I get SOOOOO self conscience when someone tells me im pretty bc i think they are giving me a "pity" pretty
and yes, im learning how to build my self image with aid

Eh the equipment is expensive for a growing kid, but we can make it work. Besides, DH and I are big people (he calls us "sturdy") - no way we would breed dancers it would be genetically impossible.

I think itys called Modesty...some people are just more modest, but I think deep down they know they are pretty and in the end...who cares but THEM...Good for them and I think we all should feel that way,.but...Why are we caring what others think about our appearances so much as to be ok to say aloud " Im stunning"...
I think its fine and good to say it to ourselves but to walk around saying it is another story cause truth be told, some people simply are not...We know this, so what good does it do them?
To answer the question..Im average, when Im thinner Im pretty.

ive gotten so much better these last few months with the help of a therapist...
it just all stems from a very critical latin family (mainly elders and my mother)

I don't think I am asking if people walk around saying it at all.
and I don't think it's a question of thinking of yourself in the context of anyone else (ie I am BETTER than someone per se)
a lot of my friends have posted MODESTLY on this thread. I disagree with them.
and...I didn't want the "modest" answer. I wanted to know what people really thought.
I am fascinated by people. hence the pysch degree and my daily postings on an internet chatroom with many.
I don't walk around every day saying how stunning I am. it's just how I FEEL some days.
I guess people can interpret it however they want. agree/disagree. I don't really care about that.

My point is to classify yourself as beautiful means as simple as it is...that you are better looking then another.
There could be NO Beautiful if there was not in turn an Ugly....
So To say Im pretty and know that there are others who arent, wish they were etc is IMO bad manners and poor taste and I guess why people tend to be modest in their answers.

I put down pretty - before having DD I felt I looked MUCH prettier and many people thought <gasp> beautiful but since having DD I feel very blah and I hate it.

Jess you are very beautiful. No pity pretty compliment on my part. I can relate to how others can really mess with your self esteem and image of yourself. I love you beautiful girl

I voted beautiful.....
If you feel beautiful, you will be beautiful.
I would have said pretty only 2 years ago, until I had veneers done and now I feel unstoppable sometimes.
This is not to say that we don't all have our moments.
Although I wish this pregnancy hadn't taken it's toll on my skin which will take eons to repair

I think that's sad then.
I think certain things are obvious. whether your point them out or not.
and again, what people say about themselves is not necessarily reality.
I say I am very pretty.
chikita says she's average.
I think she's beautiful.
so Yes, the law of averages states there has to be a bottom, middle, and top.
but that is not to say that I am saying I am prettier than YOU or YOu or YOU...though I could be...or you could blow me out of the water. It won't change the way I think of me.
that is to say that I think I am beautiful.
and if you all think your are beautiful too...that's AWESOME.
b/c I don't care about the law of averages or poor taste. b/c it doesn't matter. only what you think of yourself matters.
and that is all I asked. and why, if you think highly of yourself, would you be embarrassed.

i think it's all about how you see yourself and how comfortable you are in your own skin.
like I said, although I can feel beautiful, others might not see me like that and that's okay.
If I'm happy with who I am, that's all that should matter anyway.

I voted pretty.
In an average month for about 2.5 weeks I actually feel pretty for the most part!!
Then there the 1 or 2 weeks (when pmsing) that I feel average cause I pick myself apart like crazy.
I have learned to accept myself through the years it took a very very long time - I spend many many years of my life with a low self confidence. With age, alot of self help and being at a point in my life where I am very content with with my life my confidence has gotten better.
My DH has been telling me since day one that I am beautiful but if you don't have the confidence within yourself it doesn't matter who tells you that I have also learned!!!!!

If you were to ask me this question last year I would have said pretty..but now since I'm on medication I have gained ALOT OF WEIGHT I have a very hard time dealing with this from going from a 4 to a 12 It is very hard on me...so the answer is i feel VERY VERY UGLY!
