How does this sound for a day's worth of food?
Okay so I always read that we should be eating a lot of small meals through out the day--so I am trying this today and wuld like some opinions on what I should add or drop?
8am--hardboiled egg and an apple
10:45am- 2 metamucil (fiber) wafers
12:30pm--lite progresso soup, apple
330pm--if I get hungry another hardboiled egg (I broght two with me)
630-lentil soup, and probably a salad
night snack--piece of fruit maybe...or some nuts

Could you substitue the second apple for a different piece of fruit? Also, I don't see any dairy on there, and only 1 veggie serving.

Re: How does this sound for a day's worth of food?
Are you working out? If so that would not be enough food to satisfy me.
I would only have soup once a day. There is a lot of sodium in soup which makes you retain water. So when you have soup drink a lot more water than you normally do to flush it out.
I would replace the dinner or lunch option with a piece of chicken or fish and vegetable.
I also wouldnt eat two apples in one day...I would definitely get some stomach issues...maybe some melon and cottage cheese, carrots and hummus, or celery with peanut butter...these are options if you are trying to stay away from flour products. Another staple for me is almonds and cranberries...I make my own snack bags and carry them everywhere I go.
Bananas, kiwi's, blueberries are great fruits to add...I have a plate of this with a bowl of oatmeal and strawberries every morning.
Just trying to give you more options.
Good luck

THANK YOU
I am going shopping to the fruit/vegatable market today so I am going to stock up on some different types of fruit...I really have not been eating enough fruits and veggies.
I will take your advice and skip the lentil soup for dinner and do some griled chicken..have soup tomorrow
As far asthe almonds and cranberries--how big a serving do you make for a snack? --I love both but sometimes over do it on the cranberries lol

You are so welcome!
As far as other veggies I eat...I love Zuchinni and mushrooms sauted with a little olive oil, also Broccoli is great and spinach. I add a tomato to many meals and a few times a week a half of an avocado!
Sweet potatos are a great option too...when you want more than a veggie with your protein.
I usually put in about 12ish almonds...I love the no salt, dry roasted ones...and I love the cranberries to and usually throw in a few ... id say about 10. I make the bags all in one day...so all i have to do is grab and go!
