How far along were you/ will you be when you have your shower??
Just wondering
My mom is planning to have my shower in November and I'm not due till February. We're doing this because its the only time my sister will be able to come up from NC. Are people going to think that this is ridiculously early?

I think in general that's a bit early, but it's whatever works for you. With one SIL we did it really early b/c she was having twins and we were worried about her not going full term. With another SIL it was early b/c she had a certain restaurant she wanted it at and that's when it was available. You can do whatever works for you!

My shower is 4 weeks from tomorrow and I will be 30w2d. I requested it be about 2 months before my due date.
I dont think yours is too early...it's important that your sister be there, so I think people will understand.

27-28 weeks, my family lives out of town so we did it labor day weekend..i am due thanksgiving..dont worry about it being so early! You will be feeling good and prob have more fun!

35 weeks, and IMO it was a bit too late. It was difficult to open everything and bend, and very exhausting.
I would have preferred something like 29-32 weeks...... but first mom was in europe with us, and when we returned, MIL and FIL were in europe for 3 weeks.. so earlier was impossible.

I was 27 weeks with my DD when I had my shower in NY. That was what worked with us for traveling.
I think it will be fine.

Dec is hard bc of holidays and Jan everyone is still broke
I think Nov is great bc you can still get a pretty nice day

I'll be 29 weeks. I'm due 1/30, and my shower is 11/16. We really didn't want to wait much longer b/c then it inteferes with the holidays.

I will be just about 30 weeks. It's a little early because the site we wanted was booked for the next 2 weekends, and the weekend after that I have a wedding and one of my best friend's baby shower (she's due 2 weeks after me). Also, when we were planning, I had placenta previa and was worried about making it too late in case I had complications and because I thought I might be having a c-section at 36 weeks. Do whatever feels right for you!

I WISH my shower was when I was not as far along. I am almost 34 weeks now and still haven't had my shower!!  What makes things worse is now with my high BP/headache/protein in urine issues, I have to stay home and am confined to my friggin house!! If you want your shower to be early, voice your opinion. They may not listen [I asked DH to talk to my stepmom into a shower when I was 30 weeks] but at least you can try!

Thanks for all the replies Girls!! After reading everything I guess its a good thing- I won't be too big and you are all def right about any later and it'd def interfere with the holidays!! You girls always know how to make me feel better

I am due in February too and my shower is in early December. I will be just about 30 weeks
