how long after your DC started did teething did they get their first tooth?
DD is 4 mos and started drooling excessively and chewing on her hands about 2 weeks ago. then over the past few days she has been biting her lower lip. when can i expect to see a tooth popping through?

DS started to teethe at 8 weeks and didn't get his first tooth until 6 months!!!

dd started teething at 3 months and got her first tooth at 8 or 9 months

Chewing and drooling aren't really signs of teething, all babies start to do that around 3 months. I would say that it took about 2-4 weeks from the start of fussing and sometimes ear-rubbing for the tooth to break through for both DS and DD.
ETA: DS had his first tooth at 5.5 months, DD had hers at 6 months.

Ditto! DD turned 6 months today though- still nothing.
But she has been having what I thought was teething issues ( drooling, hands in mouth, biting on everything) from like 3.5 months.

DS showed signs of teething around 2 1/2- 3 months, and has his first tooth at 4 months.

DS started drooling a lot around 2.5-3months and got his first tooth at 5 months. We're working on teeth #6 & 7 at 8 months old.

drooling and chewing on hands are completely normal behaviors at that age regardless of teething (this is why you see so many parents post that their child started teething at that age, but didn't get teeth until later, because its normal things they do that isn't really related to teething). My girls were early teethers (cut their first teeth at 3 months and 4 months) and they never drooled a drop. I lucked out and my kids never showed "signs" of teething that weren't out of the ordinary for their age range.
