How long are you planning to stay at home?
I am thinking 4-5 months. That's what I did with my DD and I think I will do the same with this baby.
How about you guys? Does anyone know yet?

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
As of now I am not going back to my current job after the babes is born. I am currently finishing up my Masters in EDU. After the spring semester, I will just have student teaching to do so, I will do that in Sept and then after that, to find a teaching job or a good part time job.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
Probably 10 weeks and then I'll ease back in and take a day off a week like I did with DS.
It's different though this time around, I had enough banked sick with DS to have a full paid leave but, I'm going to have to take unpaid time this time.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
I am due back at the busiest time of year for my department so rather than taking 12 weeks, I plan to take 10 weeks (maternity leave policy at my company).
I am hoping to negotiate working from home the month of August and working from home 2 days a week in September (3 days in the office).
I could take the full 12 weeks under FMLA (weeks 11 and 12 would be vacation time) but I don't want other people to have to do my work for me at the busiest time of our year. BUT if they won't let me work from home (want to do this so I can EBF) then I may take the full 12 weeks.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
I'm due July 8th. I work for a college in an office but am also an adjunct professor. I plan on taking all of July and August off and then go back the day classes start (the Tuesday after Labor day). So It's about 8 weeks.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
Im a teacher and my due date is May 5th. I have enough sick and personal days to make it to the end of the school year and then I'll be off for the summer so I'll go back in September when the baby is about 4 months old

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
We either get 6 or 8 weeks depending on delivery so I will be going back then. DH is then going to take a week to watch the little guy and then it will be family 3 days a week and daycare 2 days a week.
I would like longer but any longer would be unpaid and we cannot lose my salary but could work it if DH wanted to stay home.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
I will take the 12 weeks I'm entitled to with FMLA. Wish I could take longer, but by then the financial strain might be just too much.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
I haven't decided if I'm going to do 11 full weeks off or 10 weeks + 2 weeks of part-time hours to ease back into things. Unfortunately I do not have enough time accrued to take off 12 weeks & the amount of paperwork that would need to be done for me to take a week or two off unpaid isn't worth it.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?
My maternity leave is paid an runs concurrently with FMLA. So 12 weeks. If I wanted to do more it would be unpaid and we cannot afford that, so..
