Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?

I'm brand new with the DOE and I'm not sure if I am qualified for FMLA, since I haven't been there full time for a year (however I have worked part time for over a year).
If anyoe knows anything about FMLA feel free to help me out!! Chat Icon

I'm due in April and was counting on taking the rest of the year off, but if I don't get the FMLA I have no clue what I will do!
I would love to NEVER go back!

I am planning to take the maximum that I can, which is 12 weeks (FMLA). Although, I work in a school, and with all the holidays, and school breaks, it ends up being more like 15 weeks or so. It was the same with my first maternity leave too.

The plan was 6 mos but I got put on bedrest 2 months early so I'm still thinking about it.

Although I won't have insurance or $$, I am allowed up to 12mos child care leave.

Re: How long are you planning to stay at home?

I'll be taking 1 year of maternity leave from my FT job. I'll start working from home after 3 months of leave from my 2nd part-time job.

Then after 1 year, when I go back to my regular FT job, I'm changing over to a PT schedule.

Not sure yet but hopefully at least 6 months, just like I did with DD.
