How long is your dh staying home with you when you have the baby?
When I had my DS he was home for 2 weeks because we were on christmas break (we are both teachers)
But now for my dd im most likely getting induced friday afternoon, so I should be home from the hospital by monday and dh will have to be back to work by wednesday because of the state testing (so hes really only taking monday and tuesday off)
With ds i was ok after having him so im assuming i'll be feeling ok enough to do everything on my own but it does make me a little nervous that he will only be really home and helping me for a day or 2.
How long will your dh take off to be home with you?

However long I tell him to. He works with his parents. He will probably take 2 weeks fully off and then start slowly going back for part days or a few days a week for another few weeks.

2 weeks... his job gives him one day. Luckily he was able to take vacation.

DH will be home for 2 weeks. 1 week he will be off and the second week he will "work from home". For him, working from home means answering emails and phoning in for meetings. Other than that he will be hanging out with me and LO.

With #1 he took off 1 day after the baby was born (and the day the baby was born as I was in labor all day). The problem is we work for the same dept, so me being out means they are short staffed, so it is hard for him to take off. That being said, I am hoping he takes off at least 3 days after the baby is born this time.
Eta maddie was born on a Friday, so he did have the weekend off

Not long. Last time I had ds on a sunday, monday was a holiday and he went back to work tuesday.
He also works in a school so he had no choice because he had to chair CSE meetings (hes the psychologist).
This time in anticipating the same. Too many meetings and ieps to write and etc...
Will you have family around? Ill have lots of people who can help so im not worried. Im more upset about not being home with DS at night.

With DS he took off 3 weeks, for DD he got 6 weeks but was able to use fmla. This time, ill be lucky if he takes off a week, he works for a new company, and they dont take vacations very well

2 weeks. They let him keep 1 week of his vacation as a floating vacation and he's using 5 personal days for the second week.

2 days, if it falls on a weekend He owns his business so its really hard for him to take off.

I'm hoping three weeks. He has a lot of vacation saved up and I think he gets a few days paternity leave. I'm having a c-section and with a toddler at home I will definitely need a lot of help.

With DS, he was home for about 6 wks. It just so happened that DS's birth fell right when his vacation started. I have no idea w/this DC. Hopefully he will be home for 2 wks.

I have family near by but most will be working also. Im sure it'll be fine it just makes me a little nervous that I will be alone so early. DS will still go to daycare so it'll just be me and the baby during the day.
And I feel the same way! Im very upset about leaving ds overnight. When I have the baby it'll be the first night hes ever had without either of us overnight and i know he wont be happy visiting me in the hospital and then leaving knowing that i have to stay still without him

Im not even sending ds to daycare (im nuts bc it will kill me to do it when im home  ) ill be having a C/S- im so nuts!!
We have never left DS either so its going to be very hard for me

depends when i give birth.
he's a teacher and works the summer session.
i'm due august 1st and he has the last two weeks of in august. so i'm actually hoping i go late.
if i give birth on time or early -- he will probably have to go into work to tie things up because grades will be due, etc. but we'll work it out.

Depends on the furlough program for Local 3...if there is one or isn't one. I'm due June 28th and the furlough program starts a new cycle July 1st.
Assuming there is furlough and I go the week I'm due...probably just a week or 2. He is going to take his last week of furlough this cycle the week I give birth. Then he MIGHT take another week depending on how we are doing and if I have a c-section. Then he's saving his furlough for when I go back to work to prolong our need for whoever watches DS.
There is a lot of "depends on"...

3 months (FMLA)         
Last time he took 1 month
We debated for awhile, it doesn't affect other time he gets so might as well...he can do house projects too and watch both kids while I go relax a bit

DH was home for 6 weeks last time bc he was on furlough. This time around I don't know what's going to happen. I hope he can take at least a few days off. We'll see...
