just a few weeks for both my kids!  I find that the more they are washed, the smaller they get. I had both my kids in the 3-6 months by 2 months old.

seperates in was in until about 3.5 months and for one pieces 2.5 months.

DS was almost 10lbs when he was born and I believe he wore 0-3months for about 2 weeks.

Honestly, for about a week. She still has some now at 6 weeks that fit her but snugly, so I just put her in 3-6 months stuff even if its a little big on her. She was 9lbs 12 oz at birth though.

Cailen is 7 wks old and still wears some newborn clothing... most of his 0-3 and 3 mt stuff are still swimming on him - some are fitting now... honestly, I am guessing I can get thru the summer in his 3 mts clothing (until he is 4 mts) - some of the stuff looks quite big...

DS was 6-10 at birth and now at 6.5 weeks old, probably about 9 to 10 pounds. He is just fitting perfectly into newborn stuff and most of his 0-3 month stuff is way too big. I find that Carters stuff doesn't shrink, but most other brands will have a descent amount of shrinkage and he'll fit in those way before the Carter's outfits (which look like they'll be more like 6-9 months for him at this rate).

DD was 6 lbs 7 oz at birth. She is now 8 weeks old and weighs about 10 lbs and is just outgrowing newborn cloth and starting to fit into 0-3 size clothes, but they are still big.
This is how my DS is except he was 6-8 when he was born!
