Besides my sister who is my best friend, I always say I have 4 closest friends. But if it really came down to it and I was in dire straights, I would say I only have 2 that I could really count on.

I am definitely blessed with many true friends. There are 6 of us though, who have been friends since Kindergarten and are all like sisters.

Not just "acquaintances," but actual people you can count on outside of family. Sometimes, I feel like I've grown apart from my friendships and I have no one left. Am I crazy?
I feel the same way and was actually thinking about this yeserday. I have probably 2 or 3 people that I would consider real friends.

I feel exactly the same...
I have 2 female friends like that but one lives in CT and we hardly ever see eachother. The other lives 35--40 min away and is in the process of planning her destination wedding and never has time to hang either.
I also have a few surrogate brothers that fit this description but 3 of them live in other states (2 in FL and 1 in NV) and the other is always MIA.
I try to make new friends but it's hard for me because I dont trust people easily...I have had TONS of bad experiences with betrayal, lying, stealing, hurtful friends and it's hard for me to let people get close now.
My FH is my best friend but even he lives far away and we only see eachother 1-2x's a week...I hate it!

I have at least 3/4 good friends. Ones I know that I can call out of the blue, count on in times of need or times of good. I may not see them as often as I'd like but the calls assure me we are still great friends.

Because I lived on two coasts I have been very blessed in this area. In NY, I have 7 friends who I could ask anything of and here in CA I have about 3 or 4.
I know that I am really lucky and I work hard to keep those friendships going.

I can honestly say that I have 8 friends that I can depend on 100% and would be there for me no matter what. 3 of them are overseas, but we are very close.
