Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
DD is 13 months and clearly says:
Mama, dada, baby, car, book, pup pup (puppy), hi, oh, duck, bye
Think that's it...don't even know how many they're "supposed" to have at that age
ETA: It is very impressive that he signs!! I'm jealous of that.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
sounds like both babies are where they should be DS is also 13 months and does A LOT of babbling. He does say mama, dada or didi for my DH, more, nana (banana), this or nini (when he wants his pacifier or sippy cup), uh oh, and makes animal sounds (quack, moo, woof) and then some other sporadic words that just come out (e.g. no, dog). Its inconsistent though, some days he says words clear as day, other days he doesn't. I spoke to a speech therapist I work with today and she said that it isn't till 18 months- 2 years where they really start with a lot of words.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
Thomas is 15 months. He says:
daddy, mamamama, Elmo, ball, yes, up, oh, uh-oh and hi.
I just told ped at his 15 month visit that he speaks 6 - 8 words, and she didn't say she was concerned.
I don't think your DS is behind at all.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
Noah will be 14 months this week. He says NOTHING.
He says mama and dada but Hardly ever in the right setting ( to us). He had words ( made up) for things but they do not resemble the real words at all.
Im not really worried. I know hes behind and doesnt say anything but the connotation is there in his voice when he says things so I know he understands.
I know he understands because he can point in a book to where the sun is, puppy is etc. He just hasnt verbalized yet.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
DS is 14 months and says:
dada, mama, uh-oh, ball, dat (that) and still babbles a lot. Sometimes we think we hear words but they aren't repeated...seems like he's trying it all out.

DD 15 months
Says: all clearly Mama, Dada, Hercy, Elmo, uh oh, flower, duck, Hi, Bye (and waves) "Look at that!" (together), No, Thank you, Please. Counts 1-2. Ball, dog, plane,Uppy, dow, baby

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
DS says NOTHING.
Dadda and that's it. He makes "sentences" when he "talks" but no actual recognizable words.
I try not to worry yet but it's a bit hard since everybody says their kids can say some many words.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
Jake is 15 months today. He says about 8-10 words that are correct and then another 5 or so that i know what he means, but other people might not. For example, he says "awa" for water and "appoh" for Amber (the dog).

Emma is starting to repeat a lot of what I say. She says mama, papa, ball, baby, bubbles, more, eat, brother, nicholas (well her version of nicholas), what, boo and I forget what else.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
at that age DD only said dada and uh-oh and mama/mommy on occassion, however she understood what I said to her.
At 18 -19 months she exploded. Now she has a ton of words.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
Says: mama, dada, uh-oh, thank you, yeah, that, and owie (for Brodie the dog)
But none of them are really consistant - somedays he's in a chatty mood, other days it's just babble, other days nothing.
He signs: more, eat, and fish.
We're working on more of the signs everyday. We love Signing Time.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
Jayden is 16 months and is consistently saying:
Mama Mommeeee Daddeeeee Dada Nay (Nate) Dex (dog) doggie Joe (FIL) Thank you Peas (please) Bes shew (bless you) It stuck No Hi uh-oh up Step (steph) down ca (car) bird huh (when you call his name) Yes Sobbe (sorry) Ov Eww (Love you)
It's amazing bc he has a much bigger vocabulary than Nate did at this age. He also is pretty good at repeating/imitating words we say.

Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
DD is 13.5 months. Over here it depends on DD's mood - some days she is non stop talker and babbler others she is rather quiet and just points. She talks a lot at home not as much out - she is also famous for using a word some days and not the next but then uses it again. She will say bottle one day then baba the next but will point to the bottle so you know what she means. She tends to talk more around me, my mother, DH and one or two of my close friends.
We have: dada mama (although this is more rare) cat ball hi hello bottle more quack quack car doll baby cow pillow has said mailbox a few times but not recently flower no duck dog book uh oh wow mickey (comes out meekey) door row, row, row (when we sing row row row your boat she repeats that after the song)
I was worried that she would say something like ball one day and then ba the next but she always points to the ball and her ped said it was normal at this age to do that.
