Re: how many words does your 13-16 month old have?
DS babbles a lot.
But he says:
Mama Mem (my mom) Dada Uhoh Gee (Maggie, our dog) Dog yeahyeah for yes no
And he says them all in the right context. We've also had him repeat "I know" and "I love you"

None, zero, nada, zilch.
But that's OK - I am trying to speak to her exclusively in Spanish and all the lit. says her speech will probably be delayed. But she will (hopefully) be bilingual.

DS is 13 mos. He says:
Mama, Dada, Baba, Hi, Bye, Weeee, Uh-oh, Bob (for Spongebob), Dego (Go Diego Go) Kit (for the cat), Vroom. It's amazing how quickly they learn.

DS says NOTHING.
Dadda and that's it. He makes "sentences" when he "talks" but no actual recognizable words.
I try not to worry yet but it's a bit hard since everybody says their kids can say some many words.
We are at the same age and spot. I'm not worried now, since DS#1 was a late talker (although had about 6 words at this time - but then nothing until 22 months) and ped says this is a hereditary thing - if the father was a late talker, boys are much likely to be late talkers.
With #1, we didn't have a speech eval until 27 months, but I would have liked it at 18 months, but #1 is a crazy talker now at 3.

Well I speak both English and French to DS so I know it will be confusing a bit to him too.

Yes, thanks for this! It puts some perspective that it's OK.
