I don't know the exact count but he says a lot of words and some phrases too but he still has that gibberish babble of his. His own language...LOL

dd is 26 months and she talks ALOT, if I had to guess, I would say she has over 200 words...she speaks in full sentences, can have a conversation with you, etc

He actually talks in complete sentences---constantly. he never stops talking so the word count is endless

Matthew has a BIG vocabulary. He speaks in 4-6 words sentences most of the time.

Christopher has about 100-150 words and can speak in complete sentences as well.

Kaitee didn't talk much until she was 2 1/2. Then over night she totally changed. She now can have full conversations. I have no idea how many words she has, but she speaks using proper sentences, using 'I', 'me', 'we', etc..


It literally changed over night. Now she never shuts up My 19 month old now speaks in sentences and I swear its because she hears Kaitee talk none stop all day every day

At 2 1/2 my son maybe only had 50 words, he was a late talker. He had a vocab explosion at about 34-35 months.

Now my DD probably has 200 words - maybe more. She uses a lot of them, but sometimes they are not all clear. She speaks in most 2 word sentences, sometimes 3.

At 2 1/2, DS was talking in complete full sentences, making sense. He is now 2 and 8 months and we have conversations, it's like talking to my friend

He went from about 10 words at 2 years old to well over 250 at 2.5

I never took time to count the words until they asked me at his last evaluation...I was very very surprised with how many he has!!

I could not even begin to count at this point. She talks all day long!! She definately has entire conversations (sentences, paragraphs etc.)

We're almost 2 over here and DD speaks in volumes. She has a huge vocabulary, I couldn't even count how many words. She is speaking in broken sentences right now and will have a conversation with you.

An average two year old has 50-200 words in their vocab.

Their average sentence is between 5-7 words. Anything longer than that is repeated. They mimic phrases; it doesn't come from them. The grammar will be incorrect 'goed' instead of 'went' which ties in nicely with Chomsky's theory of Universal Grammar. Their grammar is set by 5 years old, so if you are worried about anything give it time.

She is closer to 3 now but she has pretty much been having conversations with us since just over 2.

DS just turned 2 and I actually contacted EI today to set up an evaluation.

He says alot of words (not as many as I think he should be) but does not speak in full sentences yet. He is putting together 2 and 3 words only. He says things like "go mommy car" if I say we are going to go out for a car ride. So he is putting words together but not enough for me to feel comfortable with.

He also still does "baby" talk which concerns me a little and I feel he is having temper tantrums b/c he is frustrated he is not able to fully communicate with me. I can understand most of what he is saying or what he wants/needs, but most others can't.

DS was a late talker...didnt start until amost 16 1/2 mo. -17 mo. He is continuously progressing I think just slower than other kids his age and if he can qualify for speech I would jump on it to help him progress more quickly.

Andrew knew every word by then. You could have a total conversation with. But he also started speaking clearly really early, before his 1st Birthday.

Sabrina is 27 months and knows more words than I can count. And some words that I remember learning at a much later age. She holds conversations and says the most hilarious things. But she wasn't an early speaker. She just exploded into this.

DD just turned 2 1/2 and she has a HUGE vocabulary. Complete full sentences, most times she uses the past/present tense in the correct context. She'll even sing most of the Little Mermaid song.
