60 people at snapper inn brunch I think ran us about 1500. We gave a 300 dollar donation, made favors and got the cake at Costco. We had a great time. Dd has a nice chunk of change in her bank account too.

we spent a lot, some might say too much - we paid to fly the pope in on a private jet to preside over the baptism, and for an extra $500,000 "donation"
they said we could have DS declared a saint right away. i think it was worth it.

just kidding.

location: in-law's yard with tent/tables

food: made ourselves

cake: made cupcakes and put on cupcake stand

favors: "blue & white" cookies from jonathan lord bakery - VERY yummy and very very reasonably priced...packaged individually and everything! with a little baby angel sticker that had his name and the date

invites: bought at target and printed them myself. they were very nice.

total cost: MAYBE $200 - i've learned to just do what you can do, and not even think twice about whether or not you've done "enough", ya know? don't stress :)

$200, now thats more my speed!! I'd love to have it at my house but i don't have a large dining room. I can only seat 6 at my dining table and even then it's a little cramped. It'll be november so i can't do it outside. I don't want everyone to have to eat on the couch with no tables. I was thinking of just inviting immediate family and we'd go to a family restaurant like outback (our treat) afterwards. I think including me and DH it would probably only be 12 people...maybe 15.

The thing is...i don't want other family members to feel left out. How can i extend an invitation for them to come to the church if they want without inviting them to the dinner without offending them?

Re: how much did you spend altogether on Baptism?

-cake was about $400 (looked pretty, WAY to much though.)

-resturant was about $1100 including the gratuity (good food, good time. probably a bit much though.)

-mil made the favors

-made my own centerpieces for about $50

all in all it was a great day, probably WAY to expensive though. i saved for 3 months to pay for it!
