We did all the work ourselves, we gutted the whole kitchen. It came to about 25K

We recently remodeled this past spring...
From soup to nuts (gutting and all) and alot of help from family (gutting, sheetrock, cabinet installation, plumbing), it cost us approximately 30K
What we paid for:
cabinets
new subfloor
installation of hardwood and refinishing hardwood throughout the main floor
granite countertops
tape and spackle
paint
electrical
backsplash
molding (crown on cabinets, lower molding on cabinets and floor molding)
We did not get new appliances, except for an over the stove microwave

We spent $17K and did some work ourselves.
plumbing/electricity/sheetrock - contracted out - $6K
cabinets - 7K (after 20% coupon at HD - rare find!) we hung ourselves
backsplash - 1K (I splurged since we saved otherplaces)
appliances - 2K (we haven't found the right refrigerator yet, so that will add another 2K)
misc - 1K (handles, paint, curtains, etc)
