How much involvement did your DH have in wedding planning?
I was talking to a friend about it this past weekend. She mentioned that she knows a guy who had such a level of involvement, she was questioning who the bride was.
I was just wondering how much involvement/input did your DH have in wedding planning?
What were the points that were important to him?

How much involvement did your DH have in wedding planning?
DH was the one who contacted the vendors and who negotiated. He came to all appointments and had his input. But, I had the final say in everything lol.

My dh shared in the decision making for everything except my dress/hair/makeup  I would say he was perfectly involved. I basically came up with the ideas for which halls to look at, bands to see, florists to check out, and he came to everything and we decided on things together.

yup, same here
i wanted his input, but i did most of the legwork and we came to decisions on most things together.
He designed the invite and ceremony program and we printed most of everything ourselves. We did a lot of hands on work together!

My STBX had a lot of involvement---he took on picking the music/band and food because both are his passions. For everything else, we made decisions together.

I did all the leg work and just brought him to see the hall and the band- after i had seen tons and found the ones i wanted. Aside from that, I did everything and he was perfectly happy with that.

We picked out all the big vendors togethers. Hall, DJ, Photographers, Limos, etc.
I pretty much did all the small details. I would run stuff by him sometimes but he really didn't care too much.

How much involvement did your DH have in wedding planning?
we're planning ours right now..he's helped look into places to an extent, but for the most part i've found places and he'll go to the appointments if he's off work
he did do the tuxes himself, and he helped me print/stuff the invitations
we also spent over an hour in bbb, and he was really helpful with our registry-he also asks about 5 times a day if anyone bought anything lol
the big thing he's doing is building the bench we're using as a guest book though
and he's slightly obsessed with what favors we'll be having

For those that responded - that he was involved in everything except hair/make up & your dress, did he discuss bridemaid's dresses & the colors he wanted?
That was what the discussion I had was about. The groom insisted on a color palette, bridesmaid dresses, how he wanted the bridal shower to go (he wanted a Jack & Jill shower), etc).

DH did not care at all about colors, showers, or anything like that.
He went with me to all of the appointments, and he definitely provided input. However, I booked all of the appointments, did all of the research, asked all of the questions, etc. His main concern was the DJ.

He went to look at all of the venues...first one we looked at, he loved (Swan Club) and wanted to sign the papers right then and there...we ended up booking there after going to a few other places.
He was paying for the photography, so he looked at websites prior to booking appointments.
He helped pick our colors; I knew I wanted green but wasn't sure of the accent color...he wasn't helping much so I went to the paint store and took a ton of sample cards home and we looked over them. He put some together and voila! It was done.
He was very concerned with the type of DJ we hired, so he went along on those appointments and once we found our's (FM Entertainment, love them!), he was content because they totally understood what our musical 'wants' were.
Our guestbook was a guitar for all to 'autograph'...cardbox was a guitar case...those were his ideas.
He didn't care about the BM dress style, but he did pick out the suits for the guys...he did a great job with that!
The little details...I ran them by him but he didn't really care. Or, I don't want to say he didn't 'care', but it was like 'oh okay, you ordered something else from Etsy, that's nice..'
He came up with about half of the introduction songs for the wedding, as well as the exit song from the ceremony. Music is our thing.

No! He said he didn't care about colors but when I suggested one color combo, he didn't like it so we changed it. I'd say the guy wanting to bridal shower to be Jack & Jill may be considered strange but maybe he just really likes to be the center of attention!

Not much. He trusted me to make the right decisions. The things he did have input on I pretty much let him have (guys wearing Chucks, his ring, music choices, etc).

How much involvement did your DH have in wedding planning?
My husband had just as much say as I did in everything. For us, it was OUR day, so we wanted to plan it together. The most important thing to him was the music (he is an opera singer and a voice teacher). He put together a choir of his students and together we chose the music and he rehearsed them twice weekly for about a month before the wedding. He also had most of the input on the reception music.
ETA: I just saw your other question. We discussed color palette together as far as the dresses, but he pretty much left the final decision up to me. He had no input on the style of dress (except that he wanted no strapless, which he already knew I hate anyway!). He definitely had no input on the bridal shower. It was a total surprise for me. My family discussed it with him, obviously, but mostly just letting him know the plans.

he had input in almost everything, and in fact was the main point person for a number of our vendors. i had a number of family issues that made wedding planning much harder for me than it should have been and luckily he was willing to help out.

Zero, BUT its becasue we made a deal with each other. We were in contract for a house at the same time as planning our wedding.So dh did everything that had to do with the house and I did everything wedding related worked out perfect

We made most decisions jointly, except flowers which he didnt care about.
I showed him BM dresses and we discussed color, but I was the one who made the decisions and his answer was always "whatever you want". I didnt want a J&J shower so that wasnt an issue.
