how old was your LO at their Baptism/Christening?

due to scheduling conflicts we are looking at September for DS's Baptism. he will be 3 months at the time.

how old was your LO at their baptism? i know there is no standard age and a lot of people even do it later, i just feel like its older than i had wanted him to be but there's no way around it. There's also really no reason that i need him baptized before than, i guess it was just a preference

DD was 3 months. I chose this age because I heard their immune systems are a bit stronger at this point and I was concerned about her being around so many people.

My DD was baptized the day she turned 4 months old (January 9th). I felt it was older than I would've liked, but I didn't want to do it in the middle of the fall/winter holiday season.

Re: how old was your LO at their Baptism/Christening?

7 months exactly. We waited because we have a great backyard and since dd is born in the winter we can never have her parties outside so we decided to have her Christening party in the yard so we waited until summer. There were 4 other babies who got baptized with dd. 1 was only a few weekold. 1 was 3 months. My dd was 7 months and the other was 9 months

DS was six months old. He was born in October and I wanted to wait until the weather was warmer.

Re: how old was your LO at their Baptism/Christening?

i think 3 months is actually within normal range. my son will actually be 4 months because we were trying to give my moms pocketbook a break from flying back and forth & we wanted to do it on a saturday so she wouldn't have to rush to fly back home ON his baptism day.

ETA: even the nun told me most parents wait about 3 mos. and they even recommend waiting due to immune systems / shots etc.

My daughter was 3 months and she was the youngest one that day. Some of the children were walking and talking!

We waited until the first available time after she got her first set of shots at her 2 month appointment as per her pediatricians recommendations, especially if we were planning on having a party after and she would be around lots of people.

9 months. Later than we wanted, but we have a big family and there was a lot going on that year, so we didn't have much choice. All worked out fine- he was a very happy boy that day and we all had a great time!
