How old were you when you first started to dye your hair to cover up the grey ones?

I am not including dying your hair for fun or a change of looks, but for covering up grey hair. I have never done it, but I feel like I will nee to sooner than later.

i've been dyeing my hair for at least 20 years, and i probably started noticing greys in my late 20's, then really needing the color to cover them up in my early to mid 30's
all depends on the color of your hair too (how much you need to cover them). When i have my hair with blonde highlights, you don't notice the greys when they grow in nearly as much as when my hair was a dark red.

I have 2 gray hairs @ the moment but dont dye regularly ..I will b40 in 3 weeks..guess i sld start!

I have black hair with a totally white strip in the front that is about 2 inches wide. (think the lady from that Fashion show, what not to wear) I do a root touch up every two weeks. I started noticing greys in my early twentys

I just started doing highlights to mask the greys (which aren't terrible yet but I see them) this summer @ 32

I will be 45 soon and have not started yet. I do have some greys but apparently that is the look now so I am going to put it off a little longer. I know I would not be good with touching up the roots.

I've been dying my hair for since I was 15, had just about every hair color, but I've had grays in my hair since I was 18 and at about 25 they started to be more noticeable and had to be covered

Started dying at about 27. However, i've seen the light and ditched the bottle. I am about 40% grey and can't wait to be 100%!!

So many women make remarks about my hair, both positive and negative. Some love it, some hate it and tell me i'm too young to be grey (including my hairdresser but she's probably got ulterior motives).

Dh says he doesnt care. He's going bald himself.

I stopped dying because i feel like im exposed to enough chemicals in life without adding more.

I was 16 when I noticed my first gray. I prob started dying before I hit 20. I try to only do it once a month (at home kit) but by 3 weeks, it's already pretty bad... I have a huge patch right in front so it's really noticeable.

mid-20's. I am prone to a lot of gray hair. My dad was gray by the time he was 27, as was my brother. I got my dad's genes for sure!

I'm 34 and don't have any yet. I highlighted and dyed my hair a bit when I was younger just or fashionable reasons, but I was always terribl at the upkeep. I've vowed not to start dying again until I absolutely need to.

I've never dyed my hair, I am 37 and no greys yet..........but I have dark blonde hair so I'm guessing they won't be noticeable for a long time.

I am 33 and have no grey hairs yet - however, at the rate I lose hair, I will be bald before I go grey!

I don't remember the exact age...but it was young. I started noticing greasy at about 20....and by my mid 20's i had enough that I had to cover them. I'm 36 now, and I would have a full head of grey if I didn't color it.

I have a few grays (noticeable when I stare in the mirror for too long), but I have not yet dyed my hair. I really love my natural hair color so I am holding out. I am 30.

Wow you lucky 42%!

I don't have a ton of grey, so I held out for awhile. I did NOT want it showing at the wedding though so I started dying a few months before. I was just about to turn 29.

Since the wedding I've kept it up and I can't stand seeing the greys now when they grow in. PArt of me wishes I hadn' started though because I now lighten and highlight and so my hair is much drier, and it was dry to begin with.

have not. i'm almost 33. i get random ones here and there and i pull them out, have been doing that for prob about 5 years now.

I'm 26 and don't have any yet...but I've been dying my hair for fun since I was 12. My parents didn't start going grey until their 50s really I'd say, so I'm hoping I inherit those genes!

I am 30 and have not had any grey hairs yet that I've noticed... hoping it stays that way for a while longer. But if I do notice them I will start to dye it asap.
