HSG results, and our next step, and a little vent
So, when I went for my first visit w/ Dr. Goldschlag, I was told that if we kept trying for 6 months or so, he was pretty sure we'd get pregnant.
Then I went for the HSG, and apparently, I have a polyp in my uterus. (I really wish drs. would refrain from giving opinions until they have labwork/radiology results in front of them). So, I'm going for a hysteroscopy (sp?) on Oct. 16, which means IUI is out for this cycle and next. I was also told that if we did manage to get pregnant on our own, a miscarriage was likely.
Please wish me luck that all goes well with this procedure. Thank you.
I'm thrilled that we're moving forward at the rate we are, and I really do like Dr. Goldschlag; I feel like every time I see him, we take another step. I'm a little frustrated that we have to wait 2 more cycles, but I understand why and don't resent it.
I just wish doctors wouldn't give opinions without background information. This polyp I have could be what is hindering me from getting pg (deterring implantation, whatever). My OB/GYN told me he thought I'd get pg w/in 4 months (5 months ago) just by trying. But no one looked at my uterus in the meantime. This could have saved us months.

Try to look forward- at least he found what may very well be the cause of your IF.... and maybe once it's fixed you won't have any issues! ETA: And Good Luck!

I can understand how frustrated you must be, but let's be glad that the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together.
Now you know your first steps towards getting that BFP!

Re: HSG results, and our next step, and a little vent
I didn't mean to sound as negative as I guess I did. Believe me, I'm THRILLED that we are taking steps towards getting (and staying!) pregnant. And I know once this polyp or fibroid or whatever is removed, I'm just sure my chances will improve.
Thanks ladies, for putting the positive spin on it. I really am a lot more upbeat than I think I sounded in my OP. It's just that when I left the office last Monday, he had me thinking we'd do an IUI this week, and I'd be pg by October. Now, it will most likely be December at the very earliest.
BUT, I am VERY HAPPY that we are taking steps toward getting this resolved. I am really trying to keep a positive outlook. And thank you all for helping me along the way!
