Huntington Residents..Old Townhouse news

I was at Town Hall Friday getting a pemit for my deck and found out that Lowes was just there filing the permits to demo the Old Huntington Townhouse and they are targeting pouring the foundation by December.

God I can't wait for that eyesore to be gone Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Huntington Residents..Old Townhouse news

I pass there sometimes and the place honestly scares me. I am so glad to hear it's finally going to be taken over. And I have seen activity there, cars there and wondered what was going on. Now we know.Chat Icon

Not sure exactly, but there are cars and trucks there now all the time so I guess they are doing something with the interior.

They have to do something about the traffic, the Town would have never allowed it if they felt it was going to cause more chaos. I would like to see the plans though because 110 and Jericho are nuts are certain times of the day.

The thing I am happy about though is, there wont be any night traffic since the place is not open 24/7 and it will still be quiet around here Chat Icon

Re: Huntington Residents..Old Townhouse news

I know one of the dealerships was storing cars in the lot. The inside of the Townhouse is completely destroyed. I had seen the pictures on lioddities a while back.

Re: Huntington Residents..Old Townhouse news

I don't see how they are going to fit a Lowes on that property. If they do I feel really bad for the people who's houses butt up against that property. I'm honestly shocked its going to be allowed being there is another Lowes and a Home Depot close by.

Its a huge piece of property. There is a huge parking lot on both sides of the townhouse - Once the building is knocked down Chat Icon you will see the true size of the land - It is deceiving now

Someone please post the day u see them knocking it down - I want to see it

Re: Huntington Residents..Old Townhouse news

Wait... I thought they were going where that movie theater is, by the target and walmart and all those are? I thought the townhouse was out of the running a long time ago? When did it get approved? I want to see the traffic plans too... it can already be a mess with that light there.

In Farmingdale?? There is a Lowes there already.

Lowes bought the Townhouse Property about 5 years ago.

I thought it was a deal that was never going to happen either, but like I said, I heard Friday it is a go!

Yeah I was thinking that also when the clerk said it, but I just brushed it off.

I guess we will wait and see when it happens

ITA the 110/jericho intersection is going to be awful. While the traffic isn't bad in general on either road, it took me 3 lights to get through that intersection once! I avoid it like the plague!

ill all those lightning store nearby be able to compete?

That explains why I've seen workmen there every day for the past few weeks. When I was a kid they would have the end-of-season soccer league dinners there.

Re: Huntington Residents..Old Townhouse news

Update...just passed the other day and workers have cut down all the trees/shrubbery, etc, mostly in the lot next door. Loads of workers there, things are picking up.
