Wait... I thought they were going where that movie theater is, by the target and walmart and all those are? I thought the townhouse was out of the running a long time ago? When did it get approved? I want to see the traffic plans too... it can already be a mess with that light there.
Are you referring to the plans to build a Lowes where the Commack Movie Theater is? I heard that, as well.

Yeah I agree, there are 2 Target stores in commack.. Target refers to the one by Costco as "Smtihtown" though.. weird since it's nowhere near smithtown 
At lest those 2 lowes would be further apart. There are 2 Home Depots in Commack too, but I guess 1 may be considered E. Northport..

I just drove by on Saturday (6/4) and they had only cleared the brush. I think the actual demo will start soon.

Demo has begun!!!
They knocked down the sides already and they are moving fast.
I will try to post pic's soon, have not had a chance to stop there.

Half the building was taken down this week. By next week, it will probably all be down.....exciting to watch the demolition of the eyesore, sad to see a landmark gone.

I don't live too far from here, but everytime I pass and try to take a picture I have 10 people behind me or my baby screaming in the back seat. 
Things are moving fast, I bet the entire Bldg will be gone this week.

Sad... DH's senior prom was there and I used to live not too far from that.
It's sad that it couldn't be restored or repurposed into a restaurant or something.

The chandelier was destroyed a long time ago like the rest of the inside. I saw pictures on Li oddities a few years ago - Someone threw fire extinguishers at the chandelier and broke every mirror in the place - It was unrecognizable....

Oh wow - my 10 year reunion was there. I drove by a month or so ago with my mom and it looked so sad.
From the outside - you could never tell how big it was until they started clearing it out.
