I also heard it was closing. Im not a huge fan of the place (I haven't been there in years) but I think putting condos there is going to be more of a mess.

Oh, how sad. Even though it has kind of gone downhill, it is like landmark. It has been there ever since I can remember - I remember it before they put that big extension on! (Yeah, I'm old too).

I wont miss it. I live nearby and it has really gone down hill the past few years. The exterior is becoming such an eyesore.

If they build condos, that's ok I suppose, but the area is already pretty congested. And chances are they will be too expensive for any middle income families/couples to buy.

WOW.....I grew up in that area, it is a landmark, but the condo's will be nice. I just hope they are reasonably prices and not a 55+ thing. There are too many of them on the island.
My BFF was looking for a place last year and everything that looked nice wound up being 55+.

Re: Huntington Town house maybe closing?

It kind of reminds me of what they did to the Naragansett Inn (sp?) in Lindenhurst!

Now, that was the place to get married in the 70's and early 80's!! Chat Icon It burned down and they cleaned out the land and made a 55+ condo complex!!

I went to wedding there in September. It was like a haunted mansion Chat Icon

Yeah, it's pretty bad!

It's amazing that it used to be "the place" to get married-- like 30-35 years ago- but still... wow! Chat Icon

My parents were married there in the early 70's. It was totally luxurious and over the top for weddings back then. My mom came with my in 97 to a bridal extravaganza there and we PIOP at the lack of updating. It was like walking through Graceland....Chat Icon

Re: Huntington Town house maybe closing?

I know for a fact that it is closing and the land will be developed into condos/townhouses. The name of the complex is....Huntington Townhouse. How original!!

The writing has been on the wall for so many years. It's about time, I am actually surprised it lasted this long.
