Hyperemesis??
Just wondering if anyone here suffered with Hyperemesis in any of their pregnancies? I had it with both of mine until my 6th month. I have a dr that ive been with for 2 years now but with my last pregnancy he didnt help me much. He gave me zofran and that was it. I was in and out of the hospital on Ivs for dehydration many times with both pgs. I just dont know if there is a dr out there that would be able to help me more then just trying 1 medication and then telling me theres nothing else he can do. Ive heard of woman having home IV therapy which i think would be awesome, as if i was hydrated and didnt actually have to drink so much i would feel so much better. Im going to discuss this with my dr on Thursday but i know he will probably laugh in my face. Anyway just wanted to know if anyone here suffered from it and if so did you have a good dr to help you along the way? ALso any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I know it will be here before i know it so im trying to find out as much info as possible. Thank you all for listening!

Re: Hyperemesis??
I had it with both pregnancies and was on home IV therapy. A nurse came every 2 days to check my stats and to replace the port. I was on the IV 24 hours a day and inserted the Zofran 2x's a day. I was under the care of Dr Judge at Southbay OBGYN in West Islip. He is FANTASTIC. There are no words to express his bedside manner. Fm me if you want more info. Feel better
ETA: I literally couldn't even suck on a piece of candy without violently vomiting. My blood pressure was super low. The 2nd pregnancy was 100 times worse....but again, I was on IV for both pregnancies and it definitely....DEFINITELY makes a difference

Re: Hyperemesis??
Thank you so much for replying. Sweets i was the same way. I couldnt even take a sip of water without it setting me off and vomiting 20 times just from that one sip. It was bad! I coudnt eat or drink for weeks at a time..i lost 16 lbs and 18 lbs in both pgs. I didnt start gaining until my 7th month. My 1st dr said it was all in my head while i was in and out of the hospital about 15 times a month. Then i moved back to Long Island and the dr i have now isnt much help either. He is a great guy but i dont know if he knows much about hyperemesis. I will have to see what happens thursday and if i feel hes not going to help me i will have to look for a new Dr. Shorty how did the zofran help you? I was 100 times worse when i took it so i had to stop.

Re: Hyperemesis??
Yes I have had it for 3 of my Pregnancies .....As bad as you describe.
My previous Dr. Was not at all well informed on what it was and I didnt get treatment till IW as 27 weeks along and had lost almost 25 lbs.
This last time ( although I had a m/c) but Dr ( a NEW ONE) had me on a Zofran Pump as soon as teh zofran pills stopped working.
You need to find a Dr. Who can help you. Its so important with such an awful condition.
I feel for you!
