I cant believe the ball$ on this person
I have absolutely no problem with the people who take the cans and bottles with deposits on them out of my recycle can. About a month ago, I went out side to get the paper and my recycle bag was ripped opened and there were formula bottles, baby food jars, aluminum cans etc thrown all over my grass. At first I thought it was a cat or a raccoon then realized that no soda cans or bottles were there. Gave the person the benefit of the doubt, maybe the bag blew over.
Next week the same thing. And my neighbors as well. So when I put my recycles out I put a little note that said "Hi, dont mind you taking the cans and bottles, but please be courteous and not leave the stuff you dont want on the grass, thanks". Came outside, this person writes back, "Why dont you put the deposit stuff in a seperate bag this way I dont have to weed through the rest of your stuff to get what I want". 
I decided thats enough, I bought a can crusher, crushed all the cans and ripped the labels off the 2 liter bottles, this SOB not only ripped open my recycle AND garbage bags, she leaves a note on my door:
"Thank you b*tch I hope you sleep well at night. I hope you feel good about yourself taking money away from someone who might need it a bit more than you, since you so carelessly throw money in the garbage. there is a special place in hell for c*nts like you."
Oh no she didnt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so getting up early next week and confronting this woman. I paid those deposits and because I choose NOT to redeem them does not automatically make the $ yours, I can do whatever I want with them
I'm stunned

I was actually coming back on to post the same thing.
Or at least let her know if she comes on your property 1 more time...you will call the police.
I was pretty much speechless reading this the 1st time.

i would file a police report, too.
legally, once those cans are in the recycle "trash can" and on your curb they belong to the city/township where you live. that person is, in fact, robbing your town.
that is having some major balls. people like that scare me... there is no need for that level of anger and hosility

Please do not confront this person - they do not sound stable at all.
If I remember i do put those items in a different bag, just b/c I hate to be woken up by the sound of rummaging through my garbage BUT if someone did that to me I would put itching powder or something all over my garbage the next day

I agree. Please file a report with the police.
This is not a stable person. A stable person would have taken what they wanted and not made the mess the second time after your polite note.
Think about it.
If you decide to do anything else involving this crazy person you are putting yourself at risk and possibly your property as well.

Sorry but I am too. I know its unfortunate that there are tons of people in need.........but what she did/said.......totally out of line!
See........when someone has an attitude like that and "expects" things to be given to them......I can't feel sorry. That's how I see it.........
Does she come in the middle of the night?

This sounds like a person that is going to escalate any kind of retaliation, possibly to dangerous levels. I would be very careful! That weirdo is not worth your safety or property damage.
I don't know what I would do, honestly. My first instinct would be to call the police but somehow, I don't think they're going to be intimidated by that.

Maybe you should write a note and say if you didn't tear apart my garbage and toss it on the ground I would of let you take it.
I have no issues with people taking things out of our garbage but I have issues if they make a mess.

I would definitely call the cops.
It would freak me out to no end that this woman was on my property- I'd be scared of damage to my vehicles or home.
