I have to agree with the other posters.

You need to go to the police. Show the notes. Apparently this person is VERY deranged and might very well retaliate.

We had our neighboor's landscaper threatening us after I told them NOT to use the electric brush trimmer on my fence while clipping my neighboor's bushes. We called the cops. He said NOT to engaged in any arguments. He said "let us do our job". We don't want you to have slash tires tomorrow. So we filed a complaint with the police. and our neighboor had a talk with them.

The notes are evidence of the situation.

OMG! I would call the police as well. She sounds like a danger to the community. Who knows who else she is harassing as well.

definitely call the police - and I would stop putting my garbage out the night before, even if it means getting up at 6 to put it out in the morning!

I cannot believe i just read this! Absolutely crazy - she doesn't sound mentally unstable, she just sounds rude, inconsiderate and socially inept. I agree with the previous poster, I would put my recycling out in the morning.

I think you should definitely call the police but I think that going out of your way to spite this person for suggesting that you sort your cans was a little much. I understand it was way out of line, but have a little compassion for someone who has to pick out of people's trash cans in order to live.

My point was that going out of her way to crush all those cans and peel of the labels was spiteful and she should consider the desperate circumstances people are under before taking that action. She could have just ignored the last note and hoped the person was neater in the future. If the mess continued, she could have called the police at that point.

Definitely file a police report. Also, keep making the an unavailable to her, one way or another---to make sure she knows she's not welcome on your property.

You don't owe compassion toward someone who has acted like an animal and vandalized your family's home/

I am also SO ANGRY for you but please do not confront this person. You just never know. My stepdad confronted someone making a mess in our garbage years ago, it was a woman and she pulled a knife on him! My mom told 2 girls to get dressed so they wouldnt get raped walking down the street in their underwear and they physically attacked my mom, myself and my sister. This person is obviously not stable at all and you are taking a HUGE chance by approaching her. File a police report, be angry but do not handle it yourself!!

How was it spiteful ? The OP stated right away she does not mind people collecting cans to recycle , and left a nice note asking her to pleae not throw the rest of the stuff on her lawn. The woman then had the b*lls to write she should pre-sort everything FOR HER. The OP has the right to crush any cans she wants since this woman had no regard for her personal property AND is technically tresspassing on her property.Why she she HOPE that this person is neater? How is that fair? It is HER property, and HER cans.

This woman had NO EXCUSE for behaving the way she did, and she should and being desperate is no excuse for being rude .

To the OP- I am a confrontational person by nature, but this loon knows where you live. I would call the police and let them handle it so you have a record of it .
