 I say go, enjoy your trip, and limit phone contact with him while you're away. Let him MISS you, and think about how he's been acting.

Beth, after all you've been through in the past year, you need a little break to connect with your family. It sounds a little selfish on his part to get in a fight with you over it. Go and do your thing, and when you get back hopefully he will realize he was being silly.

Beth, all I can say is "You better go!" Do Not let him try to pull this guilt trip on you. What he is dealing with is growing pains. Life is changing and he isn't that "young stud" of the Hamptons any more and he doesn't know how to deal with that yet. What I have learned over these last 8 years with DH is when he gets into his need to pretend to be back in the "glory days" I just step back, let him act like an azz and then he realizes that he is stupid and wrong and in the end, I win! I will never admit that that is my strategy but it works and the number of glory days has decreased with each passing year!
Honey, enjoy your family and time away. You work hard and you deserve this!

Please go to Florida and try to enjoy yourself. It's very important to set your paramaters early on in your marriage.
Of course it's okay for him to go to the Hamptons, but it's not okay for him to say you can't go visit your family and then for him to still go to the Hamptons.
I'm sorry this is overshadowing your trip, but you need your break and you will feel much better if you go and see your family than to stay in NY. I don't think it's a good idea to cut off your DH now, you should definitely keep up communication, but also do what is best for your well-being right now.

Beth .. you are smart beautiful girl .. please do not let anyone control your decision making... I did that and it has taken me a long time to get that back.... He is going to the hamptons what are you supposed to do wait????? BETH GO BE WITH YOUR FAMILY .. he needs to take a step back and chill out.

Beth . I am so sorry you are going through this, men are a**es sometimes. Like the other ladies said, GO and have a nice time. Don't let him ruin your visit with your family. I think a little distance will do you both some good.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know there have been some times when I really didn't like DH at all. Like the other ladies have said, I think the few days apart will let you both clear your heads and realize why you got married in the first place.

Definitely go, but I would also talk to him while away. Probably because I would be afraid (maybe unrightfully so) that he might do something we would both regret if he had written me off in his mind. He sounds like he is getting more and more controlling, and that would worry me. You don't want to set the precendent of him telling you what you can and cannot do.
