 Definitely go, but I would also talk to him while away. Probably because I would be afraid (maybe unrightfully so) that he might do something we would both regret if he had written me off in his mind. He sounds like he is getting more and more controlling, and that would worry me. You don't want to set the precendent of him telling you what you can and cannot do.
I agree, it does seem to be very controlling behavior. I hope you can corral this before it gets worse...good luck, we are all here for you.

Beth-that's crap. Jake needs to get a grip. He is harboring anger towards you for other reasons. He needs to get over it.
Let him do his thing and you do yours. When you get back you can both discuss it in a civil manner.
The fact that he opened that big mouth to you..I would have walked out and let him scream at the walls.

Glad you worked it out.....but next time, he shouldn't react like this. In relationships, everyone has things they need to work on. It's not like you were going partying...it shouldn't have happened like this and I hope he know you are a little let down in his attitude. Mention being let down...that usually makes people snap out of it and feel guilty! LOL!

Beth I hope everything goes ok. The first year of marriage is aways the hardest - getting adjusted to not being single and all. I went out every weekend without my DH then I realized what was out there and it made me grow up. DH NEVER went out. JUst go relax and enjoy FLorida withoyour family. If you ever need to talk you can FM me - I am a Long Beacher by heart - moved from there to East Meadow last year.

I'm playing catch-up with all the posts this morning, so I'm a little late...but I'm glad to hear you both talked it over and he's calmed down some.
What everyone else said before me, You are visiting your family, not going off on some wild girls-only party weekend and living it up.
I'm sorry you had to go through all the stress this past week.
Enjoy your mini-trip to see your family. And keep talking to Jake. Maybe he feels insecure about you being able to pick up and leave. He'll be missing you big-time when you come back home!

beth i dont know much about your situation but you seem extremely stressed and i just hope everything works out well for you. i am sure your florida trip will be a good break for you from everything- and i hope you enjoy the time off and get some well deserved relaxation

I think the first year of marriage is definitely an adjustment. It sounds like you two are still getting used to being married. I'm sure you're both power struggling too. You'll work it out. I'm sure we've all been at the point where we don't like our spouses and running away seems like the best answer. Take a breather, and deal with it when you get home.
