To me, that just means that money is even more important than family to him...

This is incredibly frightening. We are all at risk. It is so sad but I keep finding my mind going back to the Holocaust and asking myself- what should the German people have done? What should WE do now?

They tried to assassinate a madman a few times, without success.

As a German, I do not consider Hitler to be a German, he was Austrian by birth.
He was an egotistical, racist madman with delusions of grandeur and an ideology that eventually failed him, at a huge cost to humanity.

THE EPA TRANSITION IS BEING HEADED UP BY A CLIMATE CHANGE DENIER!!!

Do we care at all about our future? Do we realize how much of this country will LITERALLY be under water???

Curious what trump supporters feel. Not being snarky. Genuinely curious. Crickets on my end of IRL supporters.

Yep. I'm starting to hear crickets, even on these boards. They're not responding to these threads with their usual.

All of a sudden they have lost the ability to defend him. How do they feel about him backing down from his promises already, appointing Bannon, not prosecuting HRC, etc.? Crickets now.

Really?
Crickets? Why bother?

No matter what anyone ever says about Trump, unless it's negative it will only be buried. NOTHING supportive, explanative, calm, questioning or reasonable about Trump will ever be acceptable. Only watching him burn will be celebrated. It has become extremely tiresome.

I've already said. No matter what he does, says, looks, leans, coughs or even breaths .. he will be wrong, terrifying or extreme. NOTHING he does will be accepted. Everything he does will be questioned, judged unacceptable and horrific. Why bother?

The crickets aren't quiet. They are horse. They are squished. They voted. What else can we do? Hell some of us (me) keep screaming 'I voted for Bernie, where were you?' but no one heard us then either. We're already tired. We lost our battle a long long time ago and the war is only just begun.

I would actually like someone to (rationally) explain this to me. I didn't vote for the President elect but I'm genuinely trying to understand him now. If you're more comfortable explaining over PM, please feel free to do that.

But this isn't a "no matter what" situation. The man appointed a WELL-DOCUMENTED and known white supremacist and anti-semite as his chief counsel.

This isn't something that can be explained. But I'm all ears if anyone would like to try, please. Because as a Jew I am now officially scared for myself and my children.

And no, Ivanka wasn't the daughter who turned away from him - that was Tiffany, Marla Maples daughter. Ivanka had an orthodox conversion but she is not orthodox, you can tell by the fact that she doesn't cover her hair and by how she dresses. And I also fail to see what that has to do with anything.

In fact, I'm pretty damn interested in hearing what she and her husband have to say about this.

People are not out to get him no matter what he does. People have real concerns about concrete things he's literally already done.

Can we get back to the Environment in the hands of a climate change denier?

Without the environment, there is literally no planet to live on.

And way before that happens, --in fact, in our lifetime, we are looking at seeing lots of NY, FL and other places sunk under water from climate change. Uninhabitable.

And as we ruin the environment and kill the future for our children, things like moving to another country seem to be futile. The whole earth is dying.

Shouldn't that concern EVERYONE?

Yes!!!!! This is actually my number one biggest concern. Climate change is real and it is already having disastrous effects. How we elected this person who denies its existence is beyond me and scares me to death.

Here are some long islanders comments on trumps recent news-

We don't care what it says about Bannon. We voted for Trump, he's smart and will make the right choices. Cry and complain all you want but we won!

Because the puffington post calls him a white supremacist, you repeat it ! How pathetic and sheeple of you ... He is a writer for Breitbart, one of the most reputable news outlets out there ... Nothing in his personal history makes him a nationalist ... He is awesome !

Thank you very much. There are no crickets on my end. You clearly want to bait us and I won't try to debate anymore. I never really intended to and am not looking to get wrapped in again. It's not worth it one bit. You have all made it clear nothing can change your mind. You want to commiserate in doom, that's your right. This has nothing to do with trying to defend. You believe what you believe, and we believe what we believe. I don't think any single Trump supporter ever claimed to agree with everything he has said and done, and that still stands. But we voted, he won and that's that. I am still happy he won, glad I voted for him over Hillary and thought his 20/20 interview was great (aside from him being cut off a few times).
Bash him all you want. Over half of the country chose him over her and that is just that. Now we can only wait and see how things go.

In light of all that's already starting to come out, it's getting harder and harder to understand their reasoning for supporting him if they aren't racist. I honestly haven't seen any positives, would you be able to share at least one positive from all this? And people are right to not turn their backs to this and watch him like a hawk going forward. This man is not to be trusted under any circumstances. They felt they couldn't trust hrc, but this guy was trustworthy and honest to them? I think they're not saying anything anymore not because they're hoarse, but because they realize they've been conned and they fukced up.

He lost the popular vote by 2 million but I do agree we are one week post election and we need to accept it.
NOW is the critical time to watch and fight him and his administration. Waiting and seeing isnt really proactive though.

The division of what's important to people who support him and those that dont is incredible.

This is INSANITY. I keep hoping he will prove me wrong, that *I* was wrong all along. I was TRYING to have hope. Any of that has been diminished in the few days. This is not OK, I want SOMEONE to explain to me how they are OK with this STILL? Explain to me how I am STILL wrong about him.

Bannon, Krobach, Ebell.....COME ON!

I am SICK to my stomach. This is exactly what I knew would happen. People backed a racist, whether they believed it or not, they did......and now look. How does a person reconcile that?????? Is it, "well, my healthcare will cost me less, but to hell with the safety and rights of minorities, LGBT, Muslims, women, etc."

Jesus, this is terrifying.

Can someone explain to me what he's "literally already done?" He's not the president yet so he hasn't "done" anything. He's said things, but as far as doing, I just don't know anything that's already "done."

Also, I am not a Trump supporter, I am not a Hillary Supporter either, but I can understand why people are no longer posting anything even remotely supportive of Trump. It's because no matter what you say you get immediately attacked. So I can understand why no one has bothered.

I find some of the reactions on this site a little crazy though. It's clear that a lot of the things presented as facts are just things that people heard and never bothered to research. If one more person posts that he called ALL mexicans rapists I might lose my mind!

Did anyone happen to catch what he said about marriage equality and pre-existing conditions on the 60 minute interview?

I do agree with you on this. It really just boils down to the fact that each of us in the world have very different lives we have led. We vote based on those lives. That's our God given right when it comes to voting. There are so many things that play into what shapes us and what we put at the top of our list in a candidate. Neither candidate was perfect by very far. To think anyone should vote based on level of other's priorities is unfair and unrealistic. Just as someone won't put my personal hot button issues on top, I should not be judged or expected to do the same.

As far as what he has done, appointing positions in his cabinet is one. As far as i know he and Republicans do not have an actual plan for repealing ACA aside from wanting to keep the pre existing conditions and age 26 terms.

As far as gay marriage he said its already gone through Supreme court so that implies its up to the states? Same with R v W but i dont know enough about law to fully understand. He said he will have a pro-life judge nominiated.

Nope. I will never agree with this. Your point absolutely applies to things like the ACA, Education, Taxes, etc. But when the country can't see past the fact that this man is a racist, HE ACTUALLY APPOINTED ONE.......the rights and safety of EVERY person in this country is PARAMOUNT to the cost of my healthcare. When people are willing to overlook blatant racism I am ABSOLUTELY going to hold them accountable for what happens over the next 4 years. Basic human decency and rights are not "hot button issues" and yes, I ABSOLUTELY believe it is fair of me to think others should believe that mankind should be the most important thing before taxes, etc

He's literally already appointed individuals to head up various aspects of his transition. Many of us have grave concerns about some of these people based upon things that these people have said and done in the past--their records. No one wants to debate. People merely want to know what those who voted for him think of those selections.

I am more than open to revising my opinion of him based on what he does going forward. the fact that no one who supported him will comment on his selections makes me think that some of those who voted for him will refuse to evaluate his choices and/or revise their opinions going forward. I don't get that.

But that's what I meant when I referenced what he's literally already done. I have posted links to articles about Bannon and Ebell to support my concerns.
