Curious what trump supporters feel. Not being snarky. Genuinely curious. Crickets on my end of IRL supporters.
Yep. I'm starting to hear crickets, even on these boards. They're not responding to these threads with their usual.
All of a sudden they have lost the ability to defend him. How do they feel about him backing down from his promises already, appointing Bannon, not prosecuting HRC, etc.? Crickets now.
Really? Crickets? Why bother?
No matter what anyone ever says about Trump, unless it's negative it will only be buried. NOTHING supportive, explanative, calm, questioning or reasonable about Trump will ever be acceptable. Only watching him burn will be celebrated. It has become extremely tiresome.
I've already said. No matter what he does, says, looks, leans, coughs or even breaths .. he will be wrong, terrifying or extreme. NOTHING he does will be accepted. Everything he does will be questioned, judged unacceptable and horrific. Why bother?
The crickets aren't quiet. They are horse. They are squished. They voted. What else can we do? Hell some of us (me) keep screaming 'I voted for Bernie, where were you?' but no one heard us then either. We're already tired. We lost our battle a long long time ago and the war is only just begun.
4 yrs.
He could find a cure for cancer and these die hard liberals will find a way to make it the end of the world bc he put drug companies out of business, hospitals and drs would lay off staff lol in their eyes nothing he does will be good enough for them.
So annoying and I can't help but roll my eyes at some of the nonsense I read from the same 3 or 4 people on here. They should really get a job at CNN or something and instill fear in the entire country instead of the handful of people on a parenting site.
... and we went through the same exact thing 4 years ago, and 8 years ago. Both on LIF, and in the rest of the country....
I disagree. Trump being elected president and the fact that we had 2 ****** candidates for the major parties this time is unprecedented.
People didnt like Obama but if I rememeber correctly it was based on how can we have a Muslim president (like it should matter) and where is his birth certificate. Speaking for myself I never paid this close attention to politics and there is a reason for that.

The extreme hatred for Obama was very blatant everywhere.... for no other reason than the color of his skin... It wasn't just a dislike. It was a very strong hatred, and people were running on fears.

So what did people do about that dislike, fear, or hatred? What came as a result when he was elected 2 times?

There were violent protests... https://origin-nyi.thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/presidential-campaign/305749-republicans-employ-double-standard-to-discredit
Obama’s election in 2008 was preceded and followed by violent attacks and property destruction targeted against minorities.
Kaylon Johnson, an African American campaign worker for Obama, was physically assaulted for wearing an Obama T-shirt in Louisiana following the 2008 election. The three white male attackers shouted “F*** Obama!” and “N***** president!” as they broke Johnson’s nose and fractured his eye-socket, requiring surgery.
More frequently, Obama’s presidency was marked by effigies of our first black president hanging from nooses across the country, for example in Kentucky, Washington State, and Maine, or being burned around the world. What Trump supporters fail to remember is that following Obama’s election, property was destroyed across the country, for example in Pennsylvania, Texas, and North Carolina, and a predominately black church was torched in Massachusetts. ...

So Glenn Beck who apparently used to be more right is telling us Bannon has clear ties to white nationalists and is a terrifying man.
Do we believe Beck? What would be his agenda in saying this?

I have to say I don't recall any of this. I am not saying it did not happen but I don't recall anything of this current magnitude. I will say then there is hope for this to calm down, since apparently it did back then. Obama was not harmed thankfully and the world went on to let him lead as was his right since he was elected.

It's the right of the people to not get over it though. That's somewhere in the constitution. A better question is why are so many people protesting the president elect.

I feel like I am in the twilight zone
Trump called for a march on Washington when obama won. Said there should be a revolution. It's just sort of hypocritical.

And the tea party (remember them) protested obama's policy. So .. it's the right of Americans on each side.

I'm not saying defend him or not. Just curious on opinions on Bannon's appointment. Do you agree with a supposed white nationalist being on staff or not. Simple question.
This just happened 24 hours ago so not quite sure what's to get over.

While I do agree that many of the people protesting are doing so because of things he has said, many people are also just furious that he is republican and he won over their candidate. They have been spoiled with the last 8 years of a democrat in the White House and they are concerned about changes coming. Which Republicans would feel the same once a democrat is coming in to the office, especially after 8 years of things being a certain way.

Re: I feel like I am in the twilight zone
It's so incredibly reductive and degrading to tell people to get over it and that people are just being sore losers. There are millions of people in this country right now - women, people of color, Muslims, LGBTQ people, Jews - who are legitimately afraid. There have been hundreds of reports of hate-motivated attacks and incidents in the 6 days since the election. THAT'S what people are protesting. That the president elect has normalized this behavior and this attitude among Americans.
Don't tell people to 'get over' their very legitimate fear. Don't.
It's the absolute epitome of privilege to be able to say to someone that they need to get over being afraid. And it's gross.

Because this society has turned into an entitled one that thinks that no one can tell them no. They can't accept defeat. We give out trophies for participation. People fight with the law because they did something wrong and think because mommy and daddy said I can do whatever I want, the same will happen once they walk out their front door. The kids need to grow up and stop being coddled. This did NOT happen when Obama was elected. We did not have college kids having temper tantrums and expecting for everyone to coddle them, cancel classes and tests. Expecting that if they sign a petition that Clinton can just become the president because they.said.so.
Do you have a right to be mad? Yes. Do you have a right to be upset? Yes. Do you have a right to protest (non-violently)? Yes. Do you have a right to go on and on and on and on for days, whining, thinking if you stomp your feet things will change to go your way? NO.

No way. You are dead wrong. I was upset when George W was elected, really not happy. But I got over it. I didn't think about protesting in the streets.
The current situation is very different and very terrifying. People are moved to protest bc they are feeling threatened by racist, sexist, misogynistic, ableist, white supremacist courting Don. It is very very different than just being a sore loser, so you can stop telling yourself that and try looking at reality.

If you don't have access to google, you can go to your local library. I have done my work. I have also watched the news since I was like 9. I also don't want goldenrod to have to keep supplying links.
Go google. Find your desired news source and look it up.
It was on his own twitter. Along with a lot of creepy shit about twilight and Robert Pattinson. But that's a different story.

Did you read my post? Here. How about this AS A START: https://www.buzzfeed.com/tasneemnashrulla/racist-incidents-after-trumps-victory?utm_term=.kq6gO9p0kr#.pnR1EBqM7R
An Indian actor posted on twitter that he was accosted in a bar in NYC and called slurs, and the men doing so had to be forcefully removed by the bouncers.
A woman I personally know was chased down in her car on LI by a man who then puled up beside her and starting yelling obscenities at her because she has a Clinton sticker on her car.
A friend of mine's sister, who is Latina, had her car vandalized in Harlem.
If I kept going, it would take all day. And that's on the ground level.
Gay Americans are concerned their right to marry will be revoked. Jews are concerned that an antisemite was appointed chief counsel. Muslims are concerned they will be deported.
Should I continue?

That's from May. It's one example. There are dozens of ways that Trump's campaign was run in a similar way to Hitler's. Dozens.
