Re: I feel like I get NOTHING DONE ( need advice...Long)
I have sort of the same issue, but not to the same extent. G is Ok if I am in the room, meaning I can do things as long as I am in sight. He can amuse himself, but I have to be there to watch it... So if I have to wash dishes, cook, use the bathroom or even when I make his bottle, he screams......badly.
Since we have a small galley kitchen, I cannot even bring him in there with me in the exersaucer.
When I fall behind I call someone to watch him so I can do what I have to do. I am not sure if you have someone who can help, but if there is ANYONE, even once and a while, it can be a great help.

Re: I feel like I get NOTHING DONE ( need advice...Long)
I wish I could tell you something really enlightening that would make it all better...it does get better though...people always ask me "how do you do it?"..and "does it get any easier" etc. I have learned that todays challenges do get easier only to be replaced with new ones. Eventually he will learn how to entertain himself or you will be able to involve him in the sock sorting...But for now all I have to offer is a poem.
Mother, of Mother, come shake out your cloth empty the dustpan, poison the moth, hang out the washing and butter the bread, sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue (lullaby, rockabye, lullaby loo). Dishes are waiting and bills are past due (pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo. Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue? (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Re: I feel like I get NOTHING DONE ( need advice...Long)
i just wanted to give to you all for doing an AWESOME job, whether your a SAHM or work fulltime. I work P/t and also have such a hard time maintaining my place-cleaning, cooking, etc. on my 2 days off, i want to be with DS, not scrubbing my bathroom, plus he is 7 months and wants my attention all the time. Its so hard to find a balance

Re: I feel like I get NOTHING DONE ( need advice...Long)
Thanks all for the tips and hugs and advice. IT helps.
I think I may need to organize a bit more, And rely on more help from my mom etc.
Lauren- We do have almost teh exact same list like that, it lists what needs to be done every day, every little thing and on top are the whenever that week to do's etc. It does help a lot.
DH helps but he also does things very slowly , and so his help in all its greatness is minor...and I have to nag a bit...which I do...but he could pick up the slack more IMO too..I will talk to him more.
As far as letting him cry to get used to being alone..I ALWAYS do, thats half the dilema..I feel badly doing the dishes, while he cries and I said , well Im just toughening him up , but hes the same way if I do it one time or 40 times.

Re: I feel like I get NOTHING DONE ( need advice...Long)
my son is very needy, I have to play with him all the time, the only time that I have a moment for myself is when he is in his walker... honestly, he has never been a great sleeper or napper until few weeks ago so right now I do what they always say, nap when he is napping... I dont really worry about the chores so much...
