I feel like such a BAD Horrible Mother today!
We had a rough day. First Troy was playing in the livingroom and ran into my knee. I thought it was just his cheek, but later DH showed me his eye. He'd apparently run his lower eyelid into my knee and the lower part of the white of his eye was RED. I took him to the sick office, sat there for over 1hr then left. I had to take MIL to an important Dr appt. We (Troy, MIL and I) sat there (at MIL's appt) for THREE hours (we were there 11:45AM - 2:50PM)-- PS Troy had been up since 7AM, with NO NAP!  We finish there and Troy passed out as we went around the corner. 
Get home. He napped for just over one house and went outside to play. He decided he wanted to climb the stairs (brick ones). In the time it took me to stop him (I was like 2 feet away from him) he fell backwards, hitting the back of his head on the cement! I scooped him up and the 1st thing I did was look for blood-none (THANK goodness!) We went inside and I gave him Motrin and put an ice pack on. There was a tiny bump and some redness (like a bruise). I was mortified. He cried for a few minutes, then was fine and went on playing with his toys.
I felt HORRIBLE! I called my mom (who is an RN) and she said what I did was good, and just to watch the bump/bruise on his head. As well, about his eye, she said to watch the red area-if it gets bigger goto the Dr. She said that is like a bruise.
And to top it off, DH was supposed to be home at 6:30 but called me at 5:30 and said he was called out on something and has no idea when he'll be home. PB&J sandwich for me for dinner.

aw Jill, I'm sorry it was such a rough day. Thankfully Troy is okay (sounds like a trooper!)
