I hate BRU!!! **Warning** Long Vent!

So my shower was on Sunday I got a bunch of stuff I didnt register for and of course there were no gift receipts given with it. I tired to find what I could on BRU.com and it add before I went to the store but some stuff I just couldn't find. I went to the one at Gateway Center on Erskine Street (its in Brooklyn, but its the closest one to me)
Anyway I go to Guest Services and give the lady the receipt for the one thing I have and she tells me, this has already been returned. I exlpain that is is impossible and that it was something i got many duplicates of that was on my registry...so she gives me credit for that a a couple of othe rthings. Then there was an item that she claimed was not on my registry and I knew it was....doesnt say if she took it off or not. When she finally gives my the credit I ask if she took that item off bc she was putting in the bin and she yelled at me!!! I was like excuse, but if you spoke clear and explained what you were doing I would have known that.

Next, I go to get some things I registered for but didnt receive and they have none of it in the store. I did find some other things I needed though.

The next problem was at the register. I had a coupon I received in the mail that said 15% off any one Baby item and it was attached to a BRU flyer. The woman tells me I cant use this becaue its from Toys R Us and because I need a credit card, then she says very nasty, it says it right on there. I read it like 10 times and do not see anywhere on the coupon anything about credit card use only. I explain to her and she starts laughing!

I would never go back to that store again but every single GC I got was to there. I guess I will have to try the one in LI and see what happens because I will definietly not be going back to that one again

You should right a letter to them telling them exactly what you told us!

We returned / exchanged things at the Massapequa store and had a very good experience. We did have to do everything in 3 separate checkouts to use the coupons we had, but the girls we dealt with were very nice and accommodating.

Oh, and we definitely used that 15% coupon you mentioned without a problem...granted we did use it on something that we used our store credit for, but I didn't read any of that nonsense either...

I agree with the poster that said you should write a long letter to corporate. The way you were treated was unacceptable. I am in Florida and the BRU by me is great with things. I am sorry you had to deal with that!

I HATE that BRU. The people in there are so un intelligent, they are english speaking but cant understand proper words...its insane. I hate that place. I drove all the way to Staten island for my last baby shower. Nuts.

that stinks, if you are in brooklyn, there is also a babies r us on bay parkway right off the belt, don't know how it is in there but its worth a shot

its funny bc we registered at the one by the source mall and the lady was so nice, but she was like umm...why dont you go to the one thats 5 minutes from you. I explained that every time I had gone there to purchase shower gifts they were always out of stock. I should have known better than to go there but I just didnt feel like driving to LI today.
My mom was with me and I was telling her I was thinking of writing a letter...she said I should too because the way we were treated was just ridiculous

Did you see name tags? I would call up corporate and tell them about your bad experience. They may do something for you. I'd imagine you can't be the only one with complaints so at least someone will get yelled at if you call and complain about them. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience.

My aunt just returned a stroller she got in July that she didn't even have the box for and they took it back with no problem so you'll probably have better luck on Long Island. I've never had a problem at any of the ones I've been to.

I'm so sorry you had that experience, when I had to return stuff I went in braced for conflict and when I got there they didn't even question me about any of my returns. I was at the counter for maybe 5 mins and got store credit for everything. This was at the Sayville/Bohemia BRU. So far I have had no problems there with customer service, availability of items or being able to use coupons. I would write a letter to corporate stating your issues exactly, even the empolyees names if you have them on the reciept.

First of all I hate the stores in Gateway Center. When I lived in queens at my parents house I refused to go there, even though it was one of the closest shopping centers to us. I've never had a good experience at any store there, BJ's, Taget, etc.

I would defintiely complain about that store and their customer service.

that location is probably one of the worst. they're a bunch of tools over there.

I live in pa now but lived not far from that shopping mall. Its a world of difference the customer service i get here than over in brooklyn.

and those 15% off coupons you do not need a cc for. I use them all the time. You cant use them on formula and diapers but pretty much anything else you can use it towards.
