My labor was nothing like my mothers. She was 2 weeks late with her first -- checked into the hospital at 6:30 pm only 1 cm dialated and gave birth to my brother around midnight. She was a week late with me, but had another quick and easy birth.
My first was a week early, but I had 19 hours of back labor and 2 1/2 hours of pushing -- nothing quick or easy about that!

I am one of five and for the three girls my mom went in the day before or after her due dates. The two boys on the other hand were both late (10 days and 2 weeks).
My DD was born the day before her due date. It is a weird coincidence. Ill see if it holds true again this time.

Actually most midwives would say that you are more likely to birth like your sisters then your mother!
I hope its true.. My sisters water broke and she was 6 cm dilated in about 4 hours and the baby was born 6 hours after her water broke! They had to SLOW her labor down because she was going too fast!
My mother on teh other hand was over 2 weeks late with me and was in labor for 48 hours and with my sister was 1.5 weeks late and in labor for 36

I thought I would be in for it because of both of my mom's labors. But mine was TOTALLY different, so I really don't believe it.

Mom was a week early with me (#1) and late with my bro (#2). I was a couple of days late with DS showing few signs of going and was induced so it wasnt the same for me.

I've never heard of this. All I know is that every pregnancy is different and that there are no commonalities between one's own pregnancy and her mother's pregnancy.

my mom was right on time and my DS was 2 weeks early thank goodness!
and my labor was MUCH easier than my mother's labor , I got to 7 cm in 4 hours w/ no epi , she SUFFERED

LOL, that is what i had hoped for!!! I ended up in the longest labor ever ...19 plus hours and then had to have a C section..although, i did end up going within a day or two of my due date and my mom always did with all babies..labor and delivery was just totally different for me as my mom never had a C section or a really long labor!!
