I need to know - WWYD?
If you are at the wedding of a good friend or family member and you have your newborn with you, and she starts crying during the ceremony...
do you take her outside, or just try to console her the entire time? You are sitting in the back row closest to the door.
The ceremony is at the reception hall, not in a church, if that matters. And yes, there was a videographer.

I would absolutely go outside. Although I would love to watch the ceremony, I think it is more important to the couple to allow them a quiet ceremony.

Re: I need to know - WWYD?
You can try consoling her for a minute but if you see it's not going to work out take the baby out. if there is a child room with the window you can listen in from there.
I would not try to console them the entire time. It's disruptive.

Re: I need to know - WWYD?
Well my brother is getting married next month and my DD will be 2 months by then, they are getting married at the reception hall. If it was me and she started crying I would walk out because I wouldnt want everyone looking at me and I wouldn't want to take away any attention from the bride and groom. HTH!!

Re: I need to know - WWYD?
I should have put up an anonymous poll for the people who are too afraid to say they would have stayed
This woman (who had her DH and another small child with her) kept the child in the room for the entire 20 minute ceremony. The newborn cried for about 75% of the time, no exaggeration. I was SHOCKED that not only did she not take the child outside, that no one said a word to her.

Re: I need to know - WWYD?
Outside. Outside. Outside. i speak from experience. My nephew was terribly misbehaved during my wedding ceremony and dinner reception. He ran around the church, blew out all of the candles, kicked the pews in front of him, screamed, cried, banged his head and on and on. At one point of the night I remember I got up and walked away from my table because he wouldn't S*T*F*U and I had seriously heard him all day and my sister and BIL are absolutely at his mercy and just ignored his behavior and said he was so exhausted. I know I'm going to get gasps for saying that, but he was atrocious. People still talk about it.
