i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!

just peed (for the 87,001st time today) and there was blood...just a little, not a lot. the best way to describe it would be like the beginning of AF.

I've been 2cm dilated for 12 days now.

Lost some/most/maybe all of mucuous plug in the past 12 days, too.

Contractions have been going since about 7:50 this morning, but they're dull and constant. More like AF cramps than contractions. Not painful AT ALL.

Baby was moving like a dancing queen most of yesterday, hasn't moved at all yet today.

Most recent contraction pattern was
9:30
9:42
9:53
10:03

clearly not in LABOR labor, but could this be something happening?!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

What would you do?

I'm at work, about 35 minutes from home and Dr's office, about 55 minutes from the hospital. Dr's office isn't very receptive to "false labor" - they just send you to the hospital. (on 7/8/09 i was pretty much laughed at and told to go home when i was sent to L&D -BY THE DR- after losing mucous plug with contractions about 15 min apart)

I'm sorry, i'm a first-timer and i really have no idea what to expect. I understand what's normal for some is not for others, but i hate guessing games!! Chat Icon

eta: nothing that would've caused any internal irritation either... last internal was last wed.

Re: normal? sorry, tmi. blood?

Since you are seeing blood, I would get in the car immediately & phone your OB"s office on the way home. I am sure that they would not laugh at you at this point. Blood is one of the number 1 rules at my OB's office to call them & come in!

I would definitely call and go. You should feel the baby moving between contractions. There's no shame in taking multiple trips to L&D...better to be safe than sorry! I hope you meet your boy soon! Chat Icon

Re: normal? sorry, tmi. blood?

That sounds like the "bloody show". I would call the doctor and let them know what is going on. They might tell you to go home and labor for a bit at home until your contractions become more regular. For me, that would be the ideal as I have no desire to labor for hours and hours in the hospital!

unless you and DH DTD recently you really should not be spotting this late unless it was the start to your bloody show.

Re: normal? sorry, tmi. blood?

Just talked to my Mom. (YourMom. hah)

She called the office because she thought these post replies would make me panic. hahahaha

She said this is how her labor started with me. she had dull contractions and blood one morning…went to the dr, she was 2cm with bulging membranes. He told her to sit back for a while longer, and that blood is normal as the membranes start to bulge. I was born 2 days later.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I really don't want to call the Dr just yet - they already think I'm crazy. Chat Icon I think I'm going to sit for a few hours and see if things change or stay the same/worsen.

Baby has moved since I last posted...I guess maybe he just wasn't awake yet? Chat Icon yay for late sleepers.

Re: normal? sorry, tmi. blood?

Nic--- I had the "fake" contractions that didnt hurt at all for two days. Then I lost my plug over the period of about 14 hrs. I woke up in the middle of the night with REAL contractions. They were different and I KNEW they were the real thing. They hurt---but not too bad---and had a peak. The other contractions did not feel like "waves" but just a tightening.

ETA:
The tightening contractions that didnt hurt I could never really tell when they started and stopped....just that they were either happening or not. The real ones had a definate start and stop.

Re: normal? sorry, tmi. blood?

Nicole--- you are not "that"girl by calling your doctors office. If I saw blood, I would calmly call and ask what you should do.

You think you are the first person to call?? Not at all, it's their job, so don't feel like that they think you are "crazy". I'm SURE there have been worse!

So I would call and see what they say before going into panic mode.
